Do you have a USB programming cable for the radio? If not, get a USB to serial adapter and plug between the computer USB and serial programming cable. Adapter driver will help with the interface.

1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
2. Download the update file.
3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
4. Unzip the file:

• If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
• If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you need to use a special software program to unzip the file (for example, WinZip).

the product arrived with an instruction manual. I followed the instructions, installed the included software, and then was unable to get the product to work as my PC (Windows 7) did not seem to recognize the device. I tried several USB ports to no avail. I emailed the seller and promptly received an email with different instructions. Although the software version on the installation CD was different from that referenced in the instructions, I was able to install and finally got the device to work as needed. The problem is that there are two programs on the installation CD and one (cassettemate) appears not to function, while the other (audacity) is what is needed. This is not indicated in the instructions that come with the device.

You have to make sure that the scanner/printer driver is installed on the Vista system. Otherwise, it will not be detected. You can obtain the driver from Canon's download page and choose the one for Windows Vista.

Try uninstalling the software, then re-install it again and only plug the headphones in when asked to do so, this will enable the program to pick the headphones up and install the correct driver, if windows picks it up as new hardware and tries to install the drivers for it then it will not work correctly.

What version of vista are you using 32 or 64?

Problem solved. I bought a cheap 'integral' usb 2.0 sdhc compatible mobile card reader. Formatted rapidly and files loaded extremely fast.

what word do you have. the new office 2007 will run on vista.
