Make sure the hard drive is on the first IDE channel, and there is no CD or DVD on the first IDE channel.
The CD-Rom or DVD should be on the second channel.

It sounds like both drives are trying to be the master on the cable. Have you tried setting both drives jumpers to the CABLE SELECT setting. This allows the BIOS to individually identify them and you specify in the BIOS which is the primary boot drive.

My lenovo got a new harddrive and won't boot at all not even bios what to do? It's a g 560

You have to recover your MBR looks like, but first you need to remove the hard drive and see if it will boot without the HDD installed then get back to me ok. Also sounds like the BIOS may have failed if it wont boot without the HDD installed. But first things first.

Installed new HD in trashed E Machine drive place, won't boot

you will need to check the BIOS >>> when the screen comes on immediately hold the "Delete" key and go into the BIOS setup and check to see if your new hard drive has been seen by the BIOS. if so then go to the tools or option where it says boot from IDE device 01 (listed under hard
drives) or >> "save" setting when prompted after hitting "ESC" .
If this fails then use you Windows disk to format the drive and start from the beginning and re-install Windows

My computer wont boot properly

Try to check first if your hard drive is working. Just follow the steps.

  1. Load BIOS Utility by pressing any of the following keys upon booting or as soon as you have turn on your computer. (keys may varry depending on the brand or type of computer you are using but the following are the most common (del, f1,f2,f10) Just try any of the following.
  2. Under advanced option please check you hard drive settings. A numeric value should be displayed on the list or in some cases if you see AUTO in this option it means the BIOS automatically detects the hard drive. Just place your cursor on this option and press enter. The BIOS should react and will display the type of hard drive installed.
  3. If BIOS utility was unable to detect the hard drive and you still have a blue screen everytime you boot you will need to reinstall the operating system or run your recovery disk .

Not recognized at all

sounds like a faulty hard drive mate, if you download this software http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools/ and run it, it will install hard drive test software onto a floppy disk for you to test the drive from boot,

Happy new year
