In this case you may need to change the cartridge with a brand new one.If it still does not work it needs to be send to repair as the cartridges might have damaged the printer. Please rate if u r satisfied with the solution.

After I put new ink in the printer it doesn't print correctly. Black is fine but the color only comes up in pink and blue.

Take the color cartridge back out then put back in making sure to fully seat it. Also, you could have an old cartidge where the ink has dried. Also after replacing ink you need to calibrate the head via the printer utility program. Speaking of that after you have reseated the cartridge open the utility and see if it has something that says "Clean Head" or something to that effect. If none of that works then return the cartridge where you purchased and get a defective return for replacement.

The magenta cartridge isn't working correctly. This is why you're only getting the other colors (blue is cyan, green is cyan and yellow, and then yellow).

Try removing and reseating the magenta cartridge. If that doesn't work, use a new magenta cartridge (the cartridge itself may have been defective).

I wasn't able to view a manual for this machine, as it's been discontinued and Lexmark no longer offers the PDF on it. If you have a "clean print heads" option, use it. It may require more than one try. If you don't have that option, then all possibilities have been covered.

Hope that's helpful.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

HP PSC 2410xi color printing issues

Try using warn distilled water and Q-tips to gently clean the area where the ink cartridge and the carriage mate up. You may have dried old ink in there which is clogging the print nozzles. Allow to air dry, reinstall cartidges, start machine and let it go through its cleaning cycle. Also check www.hp.com. Hope this helps.

Compatibility of Ink cartidge.

The MP600 does not use the 40 or 41 cartridges, it uses individual color (and black) ink tanks. But other models (MP190, MP460, MP470, etc) do use these cartridges. The error message you are receiving indicates that the printer does not recognize the cartridge you installed as a valid black ink cartridge. This can mean that either the cartridge is faulty, or that the printer has a problem.
I would suggest trying another new cartridge, and if you still get the same error, to contact Canon for support options if the unit is still in warranty.

Black ink not recognized

Select printer, properties.
Select printing preferences, select advanced.
Select more options.

Make sure you do NOT have Use color cartridge for all black printing selected.

(I had set that a while ago when my black cartidge ran out when the kids had a paper due - I forgot I had reset it. Once my color cartidge ran low, everything printed pink).

Let me know if that works for you.
