Power-on Password

b> If your HP Compaq 6715B laptop is lost or stolen, the power-on password can protect the valuable data on your computer. Even so, there may be times you'll want to clear that password and knowing the right procedure will make that easier. Once the power-on password is cleared, the Compaq 6715B will no longer require you to enter a password just to start up your laptop.

Shut down your Compaq 6715B and wait for it to power off. Press the "Power" button to restart the laptop. Tap the "F10" key after the Compaq splash screen appears. Wait for the setup menu to appear. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Security" menu and scroll down to the "Power On Password" option. Delete the entries in both boxes, then press the "F10" key. Choose the "Save Changes and Exit" option to exit the setup menu. Wait for the laptop to restart and verify that the laptop does not prompt for a power-on password. Hope this helps.

I have hp d530 sff decktpo pc I can't able to go bios setting window while booting by pressing del or F10 key also pl suggest me.

Sometimes the button to get into the Settings/Bios is F1 or F2.. just go through and test each one of these out. Also sometimes just one press isn't enough, tap on the key a couple of times ot make sure the computer recognizes it.

Good luck!

1) Turn the laptop on

2) AS SOON as you see > F10 = ROM Based Setup, in the lower left corner of your LCD screen, press the F10 key.

3) You will see the headings > Main, Advanced, Security, and Tools.
Use the appropriate Arrow key to highlight Advanced. (Look at the Navigation guide to see the proper key to use)
Press the Enter key.

4) Use the appropriate navigation key to highlight > Boot Order
Press the Enter key

This will show you the Boot Order Sequence.
What you are doing now is just looking around. You haven't changed any settings yet.

If you need to change the Boot Order Sequence, you have to use the appropriate navigation key, and highlight Multiboot, and then press the Enter key. Disable Multiboot.
Save changes.
If you do Not save the changes, it will be like you have done nothing at all.

[The navigation guide shows you the key/s to press to navigate around in BIOS Setup.

(A) Try interrupting the boot sequence and telling the computer to boot using the last known good configuration. Here's how: 1) Turn the computer on, and press F8 repeatedly until the boot options menu appears (the menu items include "Start Windows Normally," "Use Last Known Good Configuration," etc.). Use the arrow keys to select "Last Known Good Configuration" and press ENTER. The computer should boot correctly.

if it dont this is the procedure given below to format the whole operating sys 1) Put the CD in the CD drive and turn the computer on. 2) As the computer begins to turn on, you should see the message "Press __ to enter setup" (it's usually F1, F2, or F4 - models vary). Press that key.
3) You should then see the Setup screen for the BIOS ("Built-In Operating System") - using the arrows, find the "boot disk priority" settings and select your CD Drive as the first priority.
4) Exit setup, saving changes (usually by pressing F10). The computer should then boot normally using the CD.

Laptop running slow - tried a registry cleaning program but still not performing properly. Might need to restore to factory settings. How do I do this? Laptop is HP compaq nx9005 Thanks

Should be at boot time a f10 key. On your HP screen, it's esc for boot menu, F10 for the system recovery.

You'll probably need the disk.

This error message may appear when the computer BIOS is set to boot from a network and cannot find a bootable operating system on the network or on any of the storage devices included in the notebook PC's boot path.

The following steps are for most HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario Notebook PCs. The boot order can be configured on the Advanced tab in the BIOS settings menu. The steps to modify the boot order may vary depending on the model of your computer. On most HP notebooks the boot order can be configured using the following steps:
  1. Turn on or restart the computer.
  2. While the display is blank, press the F10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu. NOTE: Some notebook PCs use the F2 or F6 key.
  3. Use the right and left arrow keys to select the Advanced tab.
  4. Use the up and down arrow keys to select Boot Order .
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to change the boot order.
Reset the boot order to the default settings Use the following steps to reset the boot order to the default settings:
  1. Turn on or restart the computer.
  2. While the display is blank, press the F10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.
  3. Press the F9 key to reset the BIOS to default settings.
  4. Press the F10 to save the changes and exit the BIOS settings menu.

I think it will you to fix your problem.
If still have problem then tell me more about it.

Thanks
