What is the area of a circle if the circumference is 2 pi inches

area formula is PI x r squared
that is 3.1417 times the radius of the circle squared
example is:- 3.1417 times 3 inches squared =3.1417 times 3x3=3.1417x9=28.279 square inches if you want to work back from a circumference measurement, the formula for circumference is 2 x PI x radius or PI x diameter
if you have a circumference of 12 inches then the dia is calculated 12 inches = dia x PI to get the diameter , divide the 12 inches by PI and that will be the diameter so that is 12 divided by 3.1417 =3.819 inches
now you can go from the first formula the radius is the diameter divided by 2 so the radius will be 3.819 divided by 2 = 1.909 inches
so applying the area formula it becomes 3.1417 times 1.909 times 1.909 =11.458 square inches
to find your answer simply substitute the dimensions in place of the example figures.in the relevant formula.

Area of circle

(pi)R squared (Fixya won't let me use the sign for Pi)

Area of a circle=pi*radius^2 or pi times radius times radius

example: suppose the radius of a circle is 10 inches, then the Area of the circle would be pi times 10 times 10 or 100*pi

pi represents the circumference (distance around) of a circle / diameter and for any circle is constantly the same number which is approximately 3.14

so in my example 100*pi=100*3.14 or 314 square inches

Formula for circumference

Circumference of a Circle: 2 x pi x radius - OR - pi x diameter,

or if you need some sphere calculations?

Sphere Surface Area: 4 X pi X radius squared OR
pi X diameter squared Sphere Volume: 4/3 X pi X radius cubed OR
( pi X diameter cubed ) / 6
By the way.......... "pi" = 3.1415926536

WHAT IS THE AREA OF a circle with a diameter of 20 cm

Come on princess. Use the formula for the area of a circle: Area=PI*D*D/4
where PI can be entered using a key on the calculator, and D is the diameter.
Area =100*Pi cm^2 or about 314.159 cm^2

If you know about area formulas of class 8 and 9,please solve my question?there is a circle.in the between of the circle,there is a rectangle of dimension 4cm and 3cm.if the rectangle will cut out what...

The diameter of the circle is the diagonal of the rectangle use Pythagoras this rectangle is a made from two 3,4,5 triangles, so the diameter is 5cm, the radius will be 2.5cm don't forget the BODMAS ordering rule (Brackets of Division Multiplication Addition and Subtraction) Also rounding to 2 decimal places. This solution is based on all four corners of the rectangle touching the circumference of the circle.

Area of a circle is P (22/7) i x Radius (squared ^2) ====> 22/7 x 2.5cm ^ 2 ====> 22/7 x 6.25cm

TOTAL AREA of CIRCLE = 19.64 cm^2

Area of the rectangle is length x width ====> 4 cm x 3 cm

TOTAL AREA of RECTANGLE = 12 cm ^2

The remaining portion is the circle area minus the rectangle 19.64-12 = 7.64 cm^2

I have a tube 7.5m long. The internal diameter is 172mm. How do I work out, what the cubic capacity is for liquid of this tube?

The volume of a tube is the area of the base times the height.
In your case you were given the diameter of the tube.
D = 172mm
I converted this to meters right away so that the units are the same.
The area of a circle is pi x (radius)^2
Divide the diameter by 2 to get the radius.
R = .086m
Pi = 3.14159....
The area of the base of your tube is pi x (.086)^2
A = 0.023 m^2

To find the volume of the entire tube, multiply the height by the area.

V = H x A
V = 7.5m x 0.023m^2

V=0.174 m^3

Example of program in c++ and there code

Hello my friend, I am Jonas I work as a programmer in some various programming languages. Here try this code:
This program is design to output the Diameter, circumference, and area given a radius of a circle. #include <iostream.h> int main() { int radius, diameter, circumference, area, pi; cout << " Enter the radius of a circle\n"; cin >> radius; pi = 3.14159; diameter = 2 * radius; circumference = 2 * pi * radius; area = pi * (radius)^2; cout << "Diameter formula executing.....(2 x r)\n"; cout << "Diameter is " << diameter << endl; cout << "circumference formula executing.....(2 x pi x r)\n"; cout << "circumference is " << circumference << endl; cout << "area formula executing......(pi x [r x r])\n"; cout << "area is " << area << endl; return 0; }
Also if you need tutorial you can visit this site Learning C++ .Hope this solution will able to help your problem solved. If you need more assistance just reply to this post or send me a mail at geo_jonas@yahoo.comThank you and Godbless.

What is the area of a semi circle the diameter is 2.500mm the radious is .425mm the circumfrence is 3000mm

You cannot have a semicircle that has a diameter of 2.500 mm and a radius of .425mm and a circumference of 3000mm

Circumference is equal to pi times the diameter. pi is = 3.14

The radius of a circle is always 1/2 the diameter

Area of a circle is pi time the radius squared
