Kracher pressure washer with Honda engine 2500

Want turn over. Taken the cover off and then the rope pulls fine but flywheel will not turn. I wander if I have a broken rod or is the flywheel locked. Thanks

No repair place close so I would like to fix this problem myself.

Take the spark plug out and then try to turn it over. If it still won't pull, it's probably locked up. If it got tipped forward or towards the spark plug oil may have went into the valves. If it pulls you may see some oil spray out. Clean off plug and try to wait for the smoke to clear. Hope this helps. Please rate me

I have a similar problem with this. I took the spark plug out and the flywheel turned when pulled. What does this indicate about the issue of not pulling when the spak plug is in? Thanks Kim

Pull starting rope Broke

Most recoil assemblies are easy to fix...but not in an obvious way. Remove the recoil asembly from the small engine housing/flywheel cover. Usually three bolts hold it on. 10mm on Honda's. Pull the remaining rope thru the exit hole if possible. Otherwise, fish remaining rope thru the hole by turning rope winding pulley as if pulling handle was still attached, lining up any remaining rope end and pushing thru the exit hole in outer recoil housing or backing it out the inside pulley. Continue to wind rope winding pulley in a counterclockwise ( facing pulley...not outer metal) untill it will not tighten any further. Remove any more old rope. Line up pulley hole and exit hole. Melt end of new rope into a tapered shape..if not supplied that way. the pulley can be held in place by inserting a screwdriver thru the both the pulley and the metal housing spokes. Thread the new rope thru the exit and pulley hole. Tie the rope end sticking thru and draw tight. Cut 6 feet of rope...if not using a presized pull. Release screwdriver from spokes and rope should draw up onto the pulley. Tie off opposite end of the rope to keep from losing that end into the exit hole. put the handle on the rope and tie a knot in the end to retain the handle. Untie the tie-off and allow the handle to fully retract. If handle does not fully retract you may shorten the rope so that it does...as long as you have plenty of pull lenght

Installed improperly or the rope is not the proper size.

I have honda gcv160 5.5 pressure washer, after sitting over winter, I went to use it, and I can't even pull the cord to try and start it. What are any reccomendations as to what I can do to fix this?

My power washer started doing that after the pull-cord mechanism broke.
I took off the hoses to make sure there was no back-pressure caused by the pump.
And pull rope was still frozen.
We took off the pull rope cover on top of the machine.
The cover came off easy.
After that we lifted out the spring-pulley where the rope is attached the spring unwound and we couldn't get it back together so I bought another one.
We should not have lifted it out ... we should have tried to get it to move first without lifting it up.
In any case the washer worked fine after the replacement.

When you store a power washer, be sure to drain the water and disconnect the hoses.
Don't leave any gasoline in the engine or it will gum up the carburetor.
Never turn a gasoline engine on its side or upside down or the oil will run into carburetor, and carburetor will need work.

I change oil on my 3700 psi honda motor pressure washer motor and pump and after i done that the tigger rope is to hard to pull looks like some who is pressure some where can some one help me whit this...

Most likely has nothing to do with oil change. Have someone hold the trigger on handle open to relieve pressure on system/pump , this will make engine turn easier when you pull rope.

take the rope cowling off....undo the screw slightly then turn to tighten the spring...not to much...just enough to make the rope pull back into the cowling cover.

I 'm trying to pull the rope and it will barely--honda pressure w

The rope may be bound up in the recoil. Take the recoil cover off(the piece where the pull rope goes into) and try to pull the rope with the housing off. If it pulls freely try turning the engine by hand, you may want to remove the spark plug to release the compression. If the unit will not turn over, then the pressure pump may have failed. Best of luck.

How to replace pull string on honda 5hp pressure washer?

you will need to remove the flywheel shroud and turn it over so you can see the pully, remove the old rope then wind the pully against the spring tension until it stops, then clamp it with a c-clamp then take the new rope and feed it through the pully into the knot hole and tie a knot on the end release the clamp and let the rope rewind into the pully(slowly) until it can't fit anymore then pull a little bit back out then cut it off there and reinstall the handle then tie a knot on this end and reassemble the shroud back onto the engine...good luck
ps this also works on any small engines)

Pressure Washer Engine will not stay running

My Kracher 2500 pressure washer has no pressure unless I remove the nozzle. If, I remove the nozzle and pump the trigger several times and quickly replace the nozzle it works fine until I release the trigger. Karcher (online) suggested I remove and clean the unloader which I did. It still doesn't work correctly. What another solution?
