Disc will not run when there is error, every amount of data will be running and it is needed. Even dust will cause error, so you need to clean the dust and if the disc was scratch you need to find or buy another disc.
sounds like a complete motherboard failure with a lot of other problems.
if you remove the HDD ( turn the machine over. 2 screws on the right.slide drive out ) and mount it in an external caddy you should be able to use another machine to access the drive and probably get most data off it.
It does look like you may have a problem with the hard drive on the computer.
In regards to recovering your data if you have access to another computer you can connect the hard drive to it to see if the data is recoverable. Note since you ran the system recovery it may have over written your data. If this is the case then you might check with your local computer store to see if they have a hard drive data recovery program. As long as there is not a physical problem with the drive they may be able to recover the formatted data.
After that I would look at the top of the drive to see who the manufacture of the drive is then download there diag and repair tool for the hard drive. While you have the drive on the computer run a repair scan on the drive. If you just have some bad sectors then the diag program will zero them out and repair the drive. If the drive is indeed bad the program will tell you this as well.
If the drive is bad and your computer is still in warranty then you should be able to get Dell to send you a replacement hard drive. If you are not sure if you are still in warranty let me know the service tag of your computer and I can look it up for you. Also note you will want to have Dell send you your recovery CD if you do not already have it.
Let me know if you have any more problems or questions
Hi there. Sorry but i have to inform you that your hard drive is failing, the error messages that you are getting relate to this fact and is related to the hard drive having unrecoverable bad sectors or immanent hard drive failure. There is no way you can recover the drive!! Your only option now would be to buy a new drive for the computer or if the machine is still under warranty take advantage of that and send it in for repair, you will no doubt have to purchase a windows installation disk too.
Hi there. Error Code 0F00:0244
"Msg Block 5*****4: Uncorrectable data error code or media is write protected"
Sorry to say the hard drive has failed or is corrupt with bad sectors, with these Dell drives there is no way of fixing them. There maybe a possibility that you can recover your data if it still spins up and you add it to another computer as a slave device.
It sounds like you have a corrupted hard drive you can try to restore to last known good configuration by pressing F8 when you boot up. If that doesn't work find your restore disk and select repair windows first. before installing new(all date will be lost) mysleuth
