Jet-USA PRSWSH-200PTL-SSR replacing front oil seal How do you get the flywheel off with damaging it?

Flywheel is on the back of the engine. Vibration dampener requires a puller that bolts to the threads in the center of the dampener. Once the crankshaft bolt is out the puller bolts up and the center screw pushes against the crankshaft to remove the dampener.

How do i set a distributor on a 1999 chevy 454 with a crank sensor

Use a timing light to align the timing mark in the dampener to the marks on the timing chain cover. The degree number is on a sticker somewhere under the hood. Using the timing light with the engine running, slowly rotate the distributor so the mark in the dampener moves to the correct timing mark on the timing chain cover. You may need to wipe road dirt off the marks to read them.

Why does my dash air blow hot air

There is a dampener that opens and closes inside the duct system under the dash. If it gets stuck on the wrong position it will blow hot. They are usually vacuum controlled. Try to slide the thermostat to hot then back to cold and see if it will actuate. If not, you will need to locate the dampener and check the actuator for failure.

Where is the cam shaft sensor on a 1993 buick lesebre custom

Hi, on the 1993 Buick Lesabre the crankshaft sensor is located under the dampener pulley. Remove the serpentine belt. Remove right front wheel. Remove plastic access cover thats behind that wheel. With an impact wrench remove dampener pulley bolt. With an Dampener pulley puller remove pulley. There is a plastic cover that snaps in place over the sensor, remove it, and you will have access to the sensor.

The serpentine belt pulley on the crankshaft dampener has separated from the dampener and is moving forward, throwing the belt off. It is about 1/2 inch forward, and a black rubberish gasket is working...

yes, you need a new dampener. You will need special tool--a puller. the procedure from autozone.com is as follows:
  1. Remove the drive belt.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the right front tire assembly.
  4. Locate and remove the right splash shield.
  5. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt and washer. (my note: you may need to remove the starter and lock the flexplate starter gear with a screwdriver to hold the engine while loosening the damper bolt)
  6. Remove the crankshaft balancer using a three-leg puller such as J 24420-B, or equivalent.

To install:

  1. Clean all parts well. Apply a thin coat of sealer GM #12345739, or equivalent, to the keyway of the balancer. This is to help prevent oil from wicking along the keyway and causing a leak.
  2. Install the crankshaft balancer using tool J 29113 Crankshaft Balancer Installer or equivalent, to draw the balancer onto the crankshaft. Do not hammer on the balancer. (my note: I have never needed this tool. I slip the balancer on and draw it in with the bolt)
  3. Install the crankshaft bolt and washer and torque to 76-80 ft. lbs. (103-108 Nm).
  4. Install the remainder of the components in the reverse order of removal.

I have a 2007 unlimited 4 door . I went over a very bumpy road half way through the jeep was shaking like a tire was falling off and my steering was tight.

its your steering dampener. It is inadequate. If you dont get it fixed it could eventually snap your dampener off of your front axle where it is welded. This happened to mine. Jeep is aware of the problem, but doesn't like aknowledging it because it is referred to as the "death wobble." Jeep fixed it by putting an upgraded steering dampener on and i haven't had the problem since

Timing proceedure 1986 ford mustang 5.0

To set the ignition timing on 86 mustang, get a white crandon or white paint. Find dampener on the crankshaft behind the serpentine bell. Between to 0 and the 20 there is a 10 mark. Use the white crandon or paint to mark this. Hookup your timing light, to the battery and to cylinder number one on the distributor. On this side of the distributor where the wiring harness goes in there are two more wires hanging down from the harness. This is your spout plug connector. Remove it because with this in the computer will keep adjusting the timing by itself and you will not be able to set the timing. So with the spout connector removed and the engine warmed up adjust the timing with the engine running and the timing light pointed at the dampener aligned the pointer up with the number 10 that you have marked. Do this by turning the distributor back and forth until you achieve the correct timing. To do this you must loose and the half inch bolt on the distributor hold down, when you're done retighten this bolt. Good luck.

Vibration Dampener Removal

Before your suspects the engine dampener, pls try to see the propeller shaft. maybe it knocks on your under chassis frame. If ever propeller shaft is not the cause that's the time that you have to check the dampener.

You can remove the dampener when you're under your car. Damperners placed in-between the Flywheel and Propeller Shaft flanged. A 3 or 4 bolts must be removed.

check the dampener for wears, if the rubber dampeners shows no wears, It was only misaligned.

hope this could help.
