How to change blades on an old Ryobi 380mm cut off mitre saw?

Hi, I bought an old Ryobi 380mm metal cut off mitre saw (no numbers but it looks like an 80's model). I cannot find any mechanism to lock the shaft so the blade can be changed, any clues would be much appreciated. Regards, Ian.

Most of these saws have a push/lock tab on back side of motor housing that pins the shaft for blade change. if you cant find, use a 4/4 wood block to wedge old blade so you can loosen bolt.. hope this helps....chris

My Ryobi 10" mitre saw stops cutting when there is approximately 1/16" inch left of board to cut. What should I do to try and fix it? This is first season I have used it.

Sometimes there are stops to be adjusted and sometimes things need to be eased with a file.
One of my mitre saws had the same problem which I cured by fitting a different blade that was just a couple of mm bigger diameter - possibly the difference between a metric blade and an imperial...

I have a new 7/1-4 ryobi battery operated mitre saw all my batteries are new and run all my tools perfect, but on the mitre saw has only slight power but cant cut anything

make sure you are getting good connection to the battery for that tool. Is the blade reasonably sharp? YOu don't say what voltage but those saws aren't that torquey anyway. Sounds like a problem with that particular tool.

Ryobi mitre saw jamming when cutting

There's a normal adjustment process of squaring the blade to the table, page 19 of your manual. If the blade is not square to the table then it will bind. Here's the link for the manual, see page 19.

How do I change blade on Ryobi W-660 circular saw. I put some WD-40 on bolt, but it doesn't budge. To loosen, I turn clockwise?

I can't find that model number listed but generally a circular saw is standard thread, the mitre saw us left hand and a worm drive is also left hand thread.

My mitre saw wont lift up into the cutting position it seems stuk

look on the left side of the saw just past the blade there is a knob there pull it out as you hang onto the handle of the saw ,the knob is spring loaded, plus the if you dont hold onto the handle the unit will come up very fast.possible of hurting you or the saw.

Changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.
