Question about John Deere Garden
I have the grass box on, which has now stuck and I'm unable to release it. The engine cut out and an alarm sounded mid cut. The box is only about a third full.

SOURCE: ride on lawnmower isnt starting.
You may have a bad starter - the solinoid is "clicking" but not engaging. Remove the starter and clean it up and connect it to 12 volts to check if can turn. If not then buy a new starter and replace it out.

Sounds like a battery problem, you could have a defective cell which is causing a very low voltage to be sent to the motor which = slow spin.
Yes the charge indicator could be related.
You can take the battery apart and find out what type of cell it is and have it replaced...but personally I hate cordless lawn mowers for this exact reason so I would go but a manual push or a gas model.

I had that problem, Then I realized the cutting blades were still engaged. Did you make sure the blades were disengaged, The mower was in neutral and the Brake was fully engaged? It won't start without the blades diengaged and the brake on. You must be sitting on the seat to activate the pressure switch also. I recommend cleaning the debris out from under the deck before you start although this will not stop the engine from running if the other interlock switches are all set right. Also recommend raising the deck to the highest position before you start. Please do not activate the ignition switch with hands under the deck. The blades may turn. Not to insult your intelligence but safety is always first. I have a freind who is a lawn care expert with many mowers and years of experience, missing parts of fingers.
