Hi cqs2000.

Do the following:

"To "Remove the CMOS battery form the computer!"

  • Shut-down the computer.

  • "Unplug the computer from the {Wall Out-let}.

  • Remove the Lithium battery from the "Notebook."

  • There is a compartment (underneath) the "Notebook that 'store' the CMOS battery."

  • "You will need a {very small Phillips screwdriver}.

  • paul7of9_182.jpg Remove the CMOS battery for: [30 minutes].

  • !Important: If you have to do it again?

  • Remove the CMOS battery for a {'longer amount of time'}.

paul7of9_181.jpg Replace the "CMOS battery."

  • Next, "Only plug-in the "Power Adapter" into the computer.

  • "Do not - replace the "Lithium battery!"

  • Once you have completed these 'task'.

  • "Restart the computer."

  • "Press the [F2] key, to 'enter' the CMOS / BIOS Setup!"

  • Next, 'reset' (all) "Values to the Default Settings."

  • "Press the [F10] key to 'Save' the changes!"

!Important: "Take a 'moment to rate the help', so I can get 'credit' for the work.

Thank you!" - paul7of9

How to clear cmos in asus a7n266 mb

I had similar mobo and this is what the Asus technician told me. Take out the round battery in your motherboard and flip it around and put it back into the battery slot.(it sounds weird but that is what he said) Hold it there for 20seconds and then put back in the right way it was.

Your cmos should be cleared now. Make sure your pc is switched off when doing this.

How can remove the cmos password

hi, if you know how to open a computer or laptop, just remove the cmos battery, it is a round shape silver battery just like the battery for wrist watch but its like 3 or 4 times bigger than the regular wrist watch battery,...just remove the cmos battery then boot up your computer then, after booting up, shutdown your computer then put back again the cmos battery, then boot up again your computer then you can go directly on your cmos, it will not prompt you for any password

My computer shows a message like this on the start : "this computer system #7WQ6V3J-595B, is protected by a password authentication system, since i bought this laptop in a "used sale fair" i dont know...

Hello,

the computer has been locked from the bios settings.

What you need to do now is to access the Cmos battery on the laptop, remove the Cmos battery and turn on the laptop without the Cmos battery.

The Cmos battery is where the laptop memorizes the password and stores it. So when the Cmos battery is absent, the computer cannot remember any password

The Cmos battery is like a watch battery, but its bigger than a watch battery. You can find the Cmos battery when you loose the laptop from under. But you must first remove the laptop battery before you loose the laptop. You can open the link below to see what a Cmos battery looks like:

You can also check the below link for more information about the bios.

Take care.

Remove the keyboard, near the top is the coin shaped cmos battery, remove main laptop battery and remove the cmos battery for 10-15 minutes. Reseat the cmos battery, and reinstall the main battery and reboot. Make sure to get into the BIOS and reset the date and time.

I have a satellite A105 and When i turn it on it asks for password but I don't have the password. So how to I get past this to be able to use it again?

just remove the cmos battery

the bios stores the password and the cmos battery provides it power to store it

if you remove cmos battery the bios reverts to factory settings and the password is removed

cmos battery is different than the laptop backup battery

cmos battery is found inside the laptop case on the motherboard, you will have to open the laptop to remove the cmos battery
