SOURCE: Manual Craftman professional router table model

I had the same problem as far as the manual is concerned. I emailed Bosch. They responded and told me this is actually a Vermont American router table, and said they would put a copy of the manual in the mail to me. I haven't received it yet.

Table Saws not Powering Up

When a table saw won't power up there are various causes of failure, but troubleshooting should be done in a methodical order, the main thing though is to check the obvious first!

Equipment Needed:

  1. Continuity meter or multimeter to trace continuity from the plug to the motor
  2. A non-contact voltage detector (optional). These devices glow when the tip is held close to a live cable
Troubleshooting:

Remember to avoid shock, disconnect the tool from the mains supply before troubleshooting!
  • It may be obvious but ensure the socket outlet isn't faulty, try the tool in another outlet to see if it works.
  • Check whether the overload circuit breaker if fitted on the tool has activated. This happens e.g. on a table saw when the motor is stalled. To reset you need to press a button. The breaker may need a couple of minutes to cool down before resetting
  • If plug is rewireable check for loose screws at plug pin terminals, loose or blown fuses etc.
  • A common cause of failure especially with drills and other hand held tools is one or more broken wires in the power flex caused by metal fatigue in the cable (like when you break a paper clip by bending it backwards and forwards) , this usually happens where the cord leaves the plug or where the cord enters the tool. If you have a non-contact voltage detector, you can use it to trace the break from the plug to the tool. Plug in the tool and hold the tip of the detector at the plug, it will glow here but as it is moved down along the flex it will stop glowing after the break (If the break is in the live core of the cable)
  • Sometimes it is possible to detect where a break is in a flex by stretching it, the flex will narrow in the region of the break
  • If you still can't trace the fault, unplug the tool. Open it. Check the continuity from each pin of the plug to the switch in the tool.
  • A faulty on / off switch can prevent the tool from working. Use the continuity tester to check this
  • Loose spade terminals on switches may cause intermittent operation
  • Tools with green and red start and stop buttons may have a faulty relay
  • The brushes in the motor may have worn down
  • The armature or field coils of motor may have gone open circuit. The field coils can be checked with the continuity meter

Not working

There are various causes of failure but the checks should be carried out in this order, you will probably need a continuity meter or multimeter to trace continuity from the plug to the motor:

Check overload circuit breaker on saw hasn't tripped. This may need a couple of minutes to cool down.
If plug is rewireable check for loose screws at plug pin terminals, loose fuses etc.
Wires in power flex breaking, usually at plug or where flex enters machine.
Faulty on / off switch or loose spade terminals on switches or faulty relay on switch.
Worn out brushes.
Armature or field coils of motor going open circuit.

Yeah, I sure could use some help. I have an older craftsman table saw. It is a Flex-Drive. Model # 113.241691. I acquired it from someone that didn't have the manual. Needless to say, that leaves me with...

Don, go to "managemyhome.com and type in your model number under the manual section. Have plenty of paper ready it is 52 pages long and will instruct you how to align the saw along with other solutions to your many problems. Let me know if you need more assistance

My screen on my VE20 stopped working.

Hello,

There is nothing wrong with your screen, the problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.

The problem is common with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.

I would urge you to replace the flex and I am assuring you that your screen will display picture again. You might also be lucky to find out that the flex is not well fix, that is, it may have loosed contact.

If you cannot change the flex yourself, maybe you should take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed/replaced.

Take care.

Air flow hockey table

We made a fixture that allows us to clean the table top. We took a piece of wood larger than the fan opening, drilled a hole in it, and installed an air fitting for use with our home air compressor. WIth the fans removed, we run the compressor and hold the fixture against the bottom of the table. That forces all that air to exit out the table surface. To concentrate the flow over problem areas we cover sections of the table during the process. Also, you may need new pucks too if they are old and worn.

Flex Grid

The most common multidimensional array, the two dimensional array table, is best presented to your users in row and column format. The grid control offers a convenient way for you to display table data to your users. The users can navigate the table's values using scrollbars. Therefore, the grid control does not have to be as large as the table, because the grid control automatically displays scrollbars.
To add the flex grid control to your toolbox, select project and components. Add the flex grid control:
lesson97-1.jpg Once it is added, you will see the yellow flex grid control in your toolbox:
lesson97-2.jpg When you place the grid control on your form, you will have to resize it before the control takes on a tabular appearance. As you expand the size of the control, it does not look to much like a table. The problem is that the table's default number of rows and columns are two. To fix this problem, you must configure the rows and columns in the properties window:
lesson97-3.jpg lesson97-4.jpg lesson97-5.jpg The grid control supports fixed rows and columns. These refer to rows and columns in a grid control that do not scroll when the user clicks the scrollbars. The fixed rows and columns provides labels that describe the data. The fixed rows and columns are often called row and column headers.
lesson97-6.jpg When working with the grid control, much code is needed to provide the grid with functionality. Call statements are used to break the code required by the grid control into smaller, more manageable procedures. This is referred to as modular programming (which refers to the practice of placing code with a single purpose in a general subroutine procedure and then calling the code from a second procedure.)
Here is the code for the form load procedure (this example is based on the computer disk example used in the last lesson)

Private Sub Form_Load()
Call SizeCells
Call CenterCells

grdGrid.Row = 0
grdGrid.Col = 1
grdGrid.Text = "Single Sided; Low Density "
grdGrid.Col = 2
grdGrid.Text = "Double Sided; Low Density"
grdGrid.Col = 3
grdGrid.Text = "Singled Sided; High Density"
grdGrid.Col = 4
grdGrid.Text = "Double Sided; High Density"

grdGrid.Row = 1
grdGrid.Col = 0
grdGrid.Text = "3 1/2 inch"
grdGrid.Col = 1
grdGrid.Text = "$2.30"
grdGrid.Col = 2
grdGrid.Text = "$2.75"
grdGrid.Col = 3
grdGrid.Text = "$3.20"
grdGrid.Col = 4
grdGrid.Text = "$3.50"

grdGrid.Row = 2
grdGrid.Col = 0
grdGrid.Text = "5 1/4 inch"
grdGrid.Col = 1
grdGrid.Text = "$1.75"
grdGrid.Col = 2
grdGrid.Text = "$2.10"
grdGrid.Col = 3
grdGrid.Text = "$2.60"
grdGrid.Col = 4
grdGrid.Text = "$2.95"

End Sub
Notice how the form load procedure is used to populate the cells in the grid control. To control cell size and cell alignment, two smaller procedures are created and each procedure is called by the form load procedure.

Private Sub SizeCells()
Dim intColumn As Integer

grdGrid.ColWidth(0) = 1100

For intColumn = 1 To 4
grdGrid.ColWidth(intColumn) = 2200
Next intColumn

End Sub

Private Sub CenterCells()
Dim intColumn As Integer

For intColumn = 1 To 4
grdGrid.ColAlignment(intColumn) = flexAlignCenterCenter
Next intColumn

End Sub

Notice that the size and alignment procedures are only applied to columns 1 through 4. Column 0, which is a fixed column reserved for labels, is not formatted using either of the above two procedures.
Here is the final result:
