Question about Sony DAV-C700 System

3 Answers

I have a Toshiba CF30C50 TV that doesn't have any volume. Even the external speaker system doesn't work. The picture is great and I want to get some sound. Everything seems find except the sound. All capacitors look OK. I was thinking it is the output transistor, but I don't know. How can I test this?

Everything looks OK. Is there some check I can do with my meter. I was hoping this was a common problem. I see others have had the same problem.

Also I can just barely hear the volume. So there is a little bit, just no amplification of the signal.

As I look at the main board I can find QN14 but, I don't see QN61 or QN62 anywhere. Are they located any where aroound QN13 & QN14? These are the only 2 transistors with QN in thier label. I don't see them on the sound board.

You need to uninstall the sound drivers completely from the device manager>the rgt click anywhere on the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.it would install the drivers back on.this should resolve the concern if it is a problem with the sound drivers on the computer.

Inside the tv in the audio board....if u float the base of QN61 & QN62, the sound shud return These are the muting transistors. Tracing the base ckt back u can come across parts QN14, 2SC2878, NTE85. even if It tests good, i wud recommend u to replace that transistor.. that shud fix the problem. Honestly the only way to know for sure what is causing the problem, which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment and the skills to use the test equipment. If you feel qualified to do the testing and make the repairs the service manual for this TV will help and can be purchased by clicking here.

if u found my service helpful kindly rate my service...

good luck

First of all reset all settings to factory defaults.
There is problem in speker or connection to speaker.
You can test that all connections are ok or not?

Iis there a volume control on toshiba tecra a2

If it's plugged into a external speaker system, doesn't the external speaker system have volume control? In the Tray Notification Area, right click or click on the Sound Icon, adjust volume OR open the Control Panel and select Sounds Icon. Laptop aren't known for great sound, I use this: http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/sounddock_systems/sounddock_portable/index.jsp

Control volume on external speaker system

There is no control for this in the TV. You must do it with the volume control of the external amp.

Toshiba 36a43 i have picture but no sound. Volume control works but again still no sound.

Things to check:

In menu are speakers (audio area) switched on or off?

If you put sound all the way up and listen right at speaker what if anything do you hear?

If using a cable or sat box is sound turned down on it?

Is sound muted on set or the box (if used)

Do you have sound with a DVD etc hooked via the rear jacks?

A few sets have a slide switch on the rear= internal or external speakers--is it set to internal?

failing all of the above you have a audio circuit problem

My toshiba model 46rf350 doesn't have a picture

OK!
Do you see any characters on your display? If yes: channel info, menu, volume bar? Means: you don't have any video info coming through. Main board is most likely candidate for replacement. Next scenario: TV powers up, but you see only display glowing, no characters, no info. t-con(display adapter) board is at fault.
Last one: you can hear the sound from TV speakers( not from your surround system), but display is "black". Power supply's ballast or "inverter" quit. If you answered "yes" to one of possible issues, give me more details, please. I will guide yourself over basic troubleshooting.
Good luck,
Alex.

No sound ...volume graphic is working on screen however...will remote speakers work if not fixable?

everything is fixable the remote only sends a signal to the tv to do what ever you want it to do if there is no sound from the tv then the remote wont work the sound either but an easier solution is to fit external speakers to the tv most older sets with have ext sockets then problem solved a pair of cheap speakers or hook up a 5.1 system for better sound quailty.

I have a toshiba m100 and i want to connect it to my tv i have a hdmi output on my tv i am getting a picture but no sound what do i do

You will have a connect a cable from your laptop headphone jack to your audio in on your TV. This is a common problem. They sell a cable that goes from headphone jack to RCA jack size. You could also just add powered external speakers to your laptop and get excellent sound that way. I have a $20 pair of external Labtec speakers and they sound great watching a movie on TV.

Toshiba CN36X81 television.. NO Sound... Great Picture. Using the TV2 output of a DISH Network HD receiver... TV2 output is std def, coax output. Using a different TV I get picture and sound... but not...

IF coming in via, the "Dish" networked receiver, please check that this volume is turned way up, on the TV. and then control the the Volume, with the Dish Remote, often this is a problem, as one is turned down, and the other cannot turn that up, simply try syncing the Volume controls, UP on TV, control the Audio with dish remote. thats all i can think of. Check by feeding a signal IN from an AV, source, ie: Yellow, Video, & Red& White, Audio. Turn TV UP and check, IF it responds to this all is well. If NOT then you do indeed have a fault, with the TV.

Hooking 5.1 computer speakers to a Samsung Plasma

Computer speakers are powered, they have their own amps inside the speaker cabinet.

To get these to work on a TV you need to plug them into a headphone out jack.

The external speaker terminals produce too hot a signal for powered computer speakers. The amp in the speakers may have already been damaged.

No volume

On the back of your set there are 2 switches that tell the tv whether you are using the internal speakers or the external speakers.
Make sure the switches are set to internal so the speakers in the TV receive the sound signals. If they're set to internal maybe the internal speakers are bad. Set the switches to external and hook up external speakers to the speaker terminals on the back of the TV. If neither setup works then it sounds like an output transistor or related parts.
