Who invented loom bands

Rainbow Loom was created by Cheong Choon Ng, a Malaysian immigrant of Chinese descent who came to the United States in 1991 to attend Wichita State University, where he earned a graduate degree in mechanical engineering.[1][5] He was employed as a crash-test engineer for Nissan Motor Company in 2010 when he conceived the idea of a toy loom for rubber-band crafting while watching his young daughters make rubber-band jewelry. His prototype, which he called Twistz Bandz,[6] used a wooden board, pushpins, and dental hooks.[2] Encouraged by his family to market the product commercially,[1] he invested $10,000 and found a factory in China to manufacture the parts, which he and his wife assembled in their home in June 2011.[7] Ng renamed his product after discovering an elastic hair band on the market named Twist Band. His brother and niece came up with the name Rainbow Loom.[5]
Efforts to sell the loom online and in toy stores were unsuccessful, however, because customers did not understand how to use the product.[1][7] Ng started a website and filmed instructional videos featuring his daughters and niece.[7] In summer 2012, Ng received his first store orders from franchises of Learning Express Toys, a specialty crafts chain, and sales picked up.[1] In June 2013 arts and crafts retail chain Michaels test-marketed the product in 32 stores; by August the chain was carrying Rainbow Loom in its 1,100 U.S. locations.[7] Rainbow Loom is also sold at Mastermind in Canada and in specialty stores.[5] As of August 2013, 600 retailers were selling Rainbow Loom at a retail price of $15 to $17.[1] The kits are manufactured in China, and Ng supervises distribution out of a 7,500 square feet (700 m2) warehouse near his home.[1]
In 2013, Ng worked with The Beadery and Toner Plastics to produce the Wonder Loom, a redesigned version of the Rainbow Loom that is made in the United States. The Wonder Loom is sold by Wal-Mart.[8] In April 2014, a travel-sized version of the Rainbow Loom was released called the Monster Tail.[9][10]

FN250B 16 ga.: I was using it just fine when it stopped feeding(?), or shooting (?) brads. I'm not sure the "hammer" is moving back to push the nail. It also blows out the air from the...

There is an upper bumper that has a tendancy to split. When the part fails, air will blow out the back vent. The driver will not retun to top if the driver is bent, upper or lower bumper cracked, piston oring too tight or too loose or check band is not in place. Easy to check. Remove head and examine parts. Also make sure that the check valve is in place on the lower part of the cylinder. Pull out the cylinder and notice row of holes. Check band fits over row of holes. Finally make sure that the lower bumper is not cracked or missing pieces. Parts are available at Good luck

The piston won`t retract in order to load the next nail.

Piston not retracting is caused by several issues including bent driver blade, piston oring too worn, or check band on the outer part of the cylinder broken / out of place. Easy to check. Remove the head and pull the driver. Examine driver for bend. If not bent insert driver into cylinder and check for worn oring. The driver/oring should fit snugly and driver should hold in position in the cylinder without sliding down the cylinder under its own weight. Examine the lower bumper for missing pieces or cracked. Replace as needed. If driver /oring and bumper are ok, pull out the cylinder and examine the check band. Black piece of rubber covering series of small holes. Should fig snugly on cylinder, replace as needed. Repair kit does not include the lower bumper or the checkband. Good luck with your repair.

Nail gun shoots 1st nail fine then second is a blank. The gun is clean, there is no jam, they are the right nails. PSI is at 100. Person using gun has used this gun and others for a very long time. ...

Miss fire usually occurs when piston/driver is bent, piston oring worn, lower bumper cracked or missing pieces or upper bumper is cracked. Easy to check. Remove head and pull piston. If bent try to adjust, but be careful, blade breaks easily. Piston should fit snugly in cylinder, if loose, replace piston oring. If oring/plastic ring ok examine lower bumper for cracks and replace as needed. If lower bumper ok, pull out headvalve and examine upper bumper for cracks. If upper bumper ok, pull cylinder and look for loose check band around cylinder. Check band is black rubber and should be placed around cylinder fitting snuggly covering series of holes. Replace parts as needed and lube with silicone paste sold at Lowes in the plumbing department (or white grease). Good luck

How do I fix the crack in liner of my fridge. its getting more all the time. is there something wem can but to fix it?

If you are a little bit handy, fo to your auto parts store and get a small fiberglass body repair kit. Read the directions. Make sure you have the edges of the crack smooth and level with each other. Cut a piece of the cloth that comes in the kit that will cover the crack. Carefully mix the resin and hardener that comes in the kit. Then working quickly spread it smoothly over the cloth. Let it set up and sand smooth with 120 grit sand paper. If you want to try to match the interior color of your refrigerator, you could spray paint just the area that you patched.

When I shut the door and push start all it does is beep 3 times and then flashes DL

Hi Judy,

When you press the start button, the computer runs through a self-diagnostic prior to actually starting the wash cycle. The initial diagnostic has shown that the door latch assembly has failed and should be replaced.

The part number is 8182634 and can be purchased at your local appliance parts retailer or online where you can shop around for the best price.

The repair is very easy. With the door open look at the 6:00 o'clock position of the door boot. Lift up the rubber a bit and you'll see a spring in there... the spring on either end is connected to a steel band. With a pair of needle nose pliers, grasp one end of the steel band where it's connected to the spring and pull down and toward you. Now completely remove the band and set aside.

With a "Torx" bit, remove the 3 screws from the door latch located at the 3:00 o'clock position. Now, starting again at the 3:00 position, ease the boot off of the lip of the washer front. Pull just enough to gain access to the latch. Now reach inside and pull the latch out through the opening.

Remove the 3 wire looms from the old latch and install them on the new one. Now tuck the new latch back into the machine and hold it in position while re-installing the screws you remove earlier.

Replace the boot carefully. Make sure that it fits back over the lip EVENLY. Now re-install the steel band making sure to position the spring back at the 6:00 o'clock position.

There ya go! It's fixed! Thanks for using FixYa.
