First check the tape cables from Conv Unit and Rf unit to main unit.
Second find if the PLL ICs lock (MC145190) check voltage at pin 2 (LO) ~4,5Vdc in PLL Unit.
Third find If the (PQ30RV31) voltage ADJ in main works.

How to repair Icom IC-M700 HF transeiver?

Does it have an external speaker plugged in the back? If so try unplugging it see if the internal speaker works, if it doesnt have an external speaker plugged in try one, maybe the internal speaker went bad from moisture.

I have a icom ic-r5 scanner that will not start

Check the battery contacts. Sometimes there may be corrosion on them from old batteries. You can also check the contacts that connect the logic board to the battery contacts. There are two small Philips screws in the battery compartment. Remove them and the back cover comes off. You can check the contacts on the inside of the back cover and see where they make contact with the logic board. Make sure all contacts are free of corrosion. If it still will not power up. try a CPU reset. While holding down [FUNC] and [V/M], turn the power ON to reset the CPU.

My pro 94 scanner shows the code luired when turned on. How do I fix this?

I'm guessing that the display shows "wired" and not "luired." This mode, along with the code, is supposed to clear when the computer programming cable is disconnected. If you don't have a cable connected, your only option is to RESET the scanner to its original factory settings. Just a caution: resetting the scanner will erase/delete all programmed information -- you will have to reprogram all of the data that you've previously entered. To RESET the PRO-94:

1. Turn the scanner OFF.
2. While holding down the 2 and 9 keys, power the scanner ON. The message "CLEAR" will flash for about 5 seconds while the scanner resets.

NOTE: Do not turn the scanner OFF until "CLEAR" stops flashing.

I have been using the IC-R5 for a few years now with no problems except when using it during the summer. If the weather is hot, after being switched on for a period of time the scanner just starts to bleap...

The occilator that "locks" the VFO (like a clock signal) is gong out of range. The higher temps are affecting the temprature controlled occilator. I would send the unit to ICOM for repair.
