hey anyone, I need help... I have a Mitsubishi ws-65807. It was manufactured october 2000. I lost the sound about a year ago...just started cutting in and out then finally went out altogether. Not a problem, I just hooked up the audio to an external surround system.I can live with that but thought to mention it in case the two are related. But Heres the Major issue..I was watching my favorite Chevy Chase movie last week when the screen started to show green "warbles" like an old oscilloscope, instead of picture. Then went out altogether within minutes. I tried leaving unplugged overnite and It worked for a minute when I plugged it back in the next day. but now it doesnt work at all. When I push the power button the adjacent green led blinks 3 times and wont do anything else.can anyone please help???

You had a convergence circuit failure. When it failed you had a fuse for the -26v line open and probly the +26v fuse open. The convergence circuit in this set is on the powersupply board and is real tricky to to take out because of hidden screws on the heat sink that also hold the board in place. I would call a Mitsubishi Service facility to repair it. It will need either a pair of SKT 392-570's or a SKT393-100 and two 5A Pico fuses. As far as the sound going
out, it could be a bad Audio output Ic, it happens to be on the same board as the Convergence circuit. What bothers me is that
some of these models have had a leaking issue of cooling fluide from the crts. On Some models they had mounted a tray under the crts, other models they did'nt. Right where the Audio output and the Convergence circuits are is a prime place for this fluide to leak. You can varify this by taking the speaker geill off the front, remove the screws holding the front wood cover and right on the center board near the front of the board you would see clear liquid dropplets and or corrosion of parts due the liquid that had leaked. You really don't want to know how much it would cost to replace the crts and the Power/Convergence boards if they are available. We are talking replacement of TV if that is the case. I hope I did'nt scar you, but it is a possibility. Let me know what you find.
Hope this helps,
