SOURCE: ACER Aspire- beeping sound - 6seconds when I power machine on

The beeps are telling you there is a hardware failure (POST). The number and length of beeps will give a better indication as to what has failed. Write back with that info and someone on this web site will interpret this for you.

SOURCE: computer wont boot hear one beep from motherboard over and over

If your power supply is bad, there is typically a much cheaper way to fix it rather than purchasing a new one.

If you know a little about electronics or know someone who does have them open up the power supply and check the capacitors. Often times when a power supply goes bad its the result of capacitors going bad.

If you notice on the ends of any capacitors a brownish/whitish discharge or "bulging" then the capacitor has gone bad.

A new one typically cost less than a dollar and replacing it is fairly easy if you know how to solder.

Let me know if you have anymore questions and hopefully if this is the case you can save some money.

SOURCE: acer aspire m3201 wont boot up

There are numerous issues that could cause this but if absolutely nothing happens, no lights, no fans, nothing then check the power supply. Use a simple voltage tester to see if you have any voltage on the connectors going to the hard drive and cd/dvd drives. If not this is a pretty easy and relatively inexpensive fix. My desk top pc wont boot up im getting the first screen and the bleeps but then nothing what can i do

Hi,

If you are receiving continuous beeps, it means that computer is not recognising the RAM (memory). In this you have to open the Tower and follow the below steps:

1. Turn OFF the computer
2. Open the flap of the Tower (Remove the screws from the back of Tower)
3. Now, On the Motherboard you will be able to see the RAM see the picture nanjia.jpeg

4. There should be two pins to unlock and remove it
5. Once removed, clean the terminal and replug it.
6. Turn ON the computer, it should take care of the issue

Thanks and regards,

Computer wont start acer aspire L-100

CPU overheated? When you cool it down it will start. You can check whether there are lots of dust on the CPU fan and the chase of the machine, they might block the air flow and overheat the CPU.

There could be tons of reason for a computer not starting up! the first thing I would replace would be the power supply, then the memory sticks or even the entire motherboard could cause it. does the computer beep any tones when you first hit the power supply, no? replace the power supply unitassy.techman

I have an Acer T180 desk top which was working OK. Now just beeps

The beeps you refer to are known as "computer2.gif beep codes" and may also be known as "computer post codes2.gif" although they are in fact slightly different with the post code being the more technically descriptive of the two.

These are very descriptive and can tell you exactly where to home in on the problem.

In the back of your manual should be a list of these beeps and if you listen very carefully the are quite similar to morse code. Its this distinction the gives you the information. If its not there then you should go here

http://www.postcodemaster.com

scroll down to the beep codes.

Power supply fo acer Aspire SA 60 desk top

Hi,

To my knowledge, there is no limit to the maximum wattage that can be installed in your PC. The only limitations would be:
  • the physical dimension and mounting holes;
  • the connectors and wire/pin arrangements;
  • it should not be lower than what you currently have.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

In this case myself assume that your acer do a problem in the memory, try remove and clean the memory.

1. boot your acer without the memory. hear beep? if yes,
Only memory has a problem, if no, then;

examine the mainboard of your acer.

If you can hear a beep then fix back the memory and start the system.

if this not solve the problem, replace the memory.

In case that it hard for you to open the laptop let the repairman do it for you so that all your problem will be examine.
