I need a schematic diagram for a cb radio the radio is a electrophone model cb-550 PCB is a PTBM058COX with a SWR meter PCB PTSR007AOX need it to wire the SWR meter to the main board please help?

This circuit board is manufactured by Uniden, I believe. I was searching for it last week and found it by googling PTMN058COX Schematic. There are many brands using this board so don't worry about the brand name. Just download the file.

I have a cobra CB. I went to hook it up today, and the fuse popped. I went to unhook it and noticed that the radio was smoking. I took the cover off to take a look and see if everything was OK. There is...

Most CB radio have a diode near the B+ leads going in the circuit board, by your description when you hooked it up you probably got the + and - mixed up and put them in reverse by mistake, when this happens it will short out the diode and sometimes destroy the audio output ic and open a trace on the circuit board before it blows the fuse as it smokes. The diode must be replaced and burnt spot repaired on the circuit board, if you are very lucky the audio ic will come out unharmed.

CB radio will not put out any distance

Sounds like its not getting its full power to operate, check that each one of the nine batteries have the full volts it takes to get the four watts out-put, also check the antenna where it connects to radio, sometimes this gets corroded and needs to be cleaned

I would like to find the correct 2 digit channel display for the Galaxy DX77 CB Radio. The display in my radio has one segment out and can be confusing as to the channel you are seeking. Does anyone know...

I don't know whether this is an LED or LCD type. Finding an exact match would be difficult except from the manufacturer.

However, do CHECK the soldering of the display and the driver chip.

The segments almost NEVER fail on the LED. Soldering and board cracks and failed driver chips are usually more likely.

On the LCD displays, often they use a rubber strip with little wires to (looks almost like ribbon cable) contact pads on the glass from pads on the circuit driver board... THESE cause a lot of problems and often require a cleaning of contacts and the ends of the wires with isoprophyl alcohol and re-aligning.

12V power gets to the radio but the radio does not function.

Open circuit on the PC board, open resistor on the board, fuse or possible bad on / off switch.

No audio output with internal OR external speaker. Any suggestions? Could it be audio circuit and is this a common problem? Also need schematic for 75-822.

Unfortunatly this is a common problem. I have found that the mic switch ( PTT Switch ) doesn't always make good comtact internally ( You might spray some contact cleaner in the switch ) and also you might look close at the speaker jack in the radio. It may have broken contacts ( the lead broke loose from the board ). Resolder them and it should work. Good Luck

You may have cold solder joints ( broken lead connection/s to the pc board) around the PLL chip area. Also you may have a switch that needs cleaned. To clean the switches, purchase some contact cleaner ( I use WD 40, although some techs don't recomend it ) and spray the switches and pots ( volume control, squelch etc )> Aviod getting any oil on the board. . Good Luck
