The bearing is the plastic which holds the front glides. It just snaps in place and is easy to remove using flat blade screw driver. The bearing has 3 or four glides which are purchased separately. The rear of the dryer also has a bearing which is plastic part number WE3x75 on the old models, newer models use a different number.

Tip

Help my dryer is eating my clothes

This is a common occurance in Frigidaire dryers and GE dryers. The glides wear out and the drum usually scrubs to begin with. On GE dryers the glides are mounted on plastic bearing. So the noise is not so much but it will still begin to bind up and to pinch. To replace the glides is very easy. Open the door to remove screws holding down the top. Or use a putty knife to pop the top on some models. Then remove the front panel. The bearing pops off and the glades are fairly easy to replace. I have a repair page on GE dryer HERE

My ge clothes dryer started making a loud skreaching noise im positive its the drum rubbing on metal in the front of the dryer how do i replace what ever is in between that seperates the 2

You need to replace either the front bearing (plastic that drum rolls over) or the glides that go on the front bearing ( glides that insert into the plastic bearing piece that the drum glides on.I would change both, simply remove the top of the dryer then you will see two 5/16' bolts that hold the front to the sides just inside on the top, remove the two bolts and remove the front of the dryer and you will see the bearing and glides that I have described. Replace, reassemble and begin quiet drying again. Good luck!

GE Dryer DBVH512EF0WW vibrates/shudders excessively. Particularly with the top on. I've replaced the front top bearing, drum slides and felt seal. What is my problem?

The only thing I can think of is if you have plastic inserts built into the drum then maybe you installed the wrong kit in the dryer.
Their are basically 2 styles of GE dryers. Those that have a steel drum and a bearing with glides on the front panel and those that have felt on the front panel and the plastic glides mounted in the drum itself.

Iam hearing scraping sounds from my dryer.

Hello Friend, Your solution is simple. You need to replace the front drum bearing and glider pads. It's actually pretty simple to do. Just remove front of dryer cabinet. After removal just look at backside of dryer front around the inner door. You will see where the dryer drum has turned and wore a hole in the plastic piece above the dryer door. This piece is called the front drum bearing. Just unsnap this piece and snap in a new one. Be sure to replace the little plastic glide pads onto the top of the drum bearing before re-installing the dryer cabinet front. The front drum bearing and glider pads are sold seperately so make sure you have everything you need before you begin. This should solve your problem. Happy to help, Tim.

Dryer drum causing squeak

Most likely the front support bearing. If this is the problem you will likely have to replace the slides too. The wizards have a ten year warranty. The bearing is part number WE3M26 and the slides probably need 3 or 4 of them are we1m333. Hope this helps.
