Either the left headphone is shot or the headphone jack is messed up. Try a different set of head phones if its same result see about replacing the jack.

I have an Acer Aspire Notebook. When I plug headphones into the audio jack there is no sound, however, the sound works fine from the notebook speakers. Can anyone help me?

Hi, May I know if have tried alternate headphones and if they are the same?Does the headphone work when wiggled within the port if yes then the issue is with the headphone jack being loose and you would need to send the computer for a repair if covered by the manufacturers warranty as the headphone jack needs to be replaced. Thank you for your time.

Sylvania TV Headphone Jack Problem (Specifically for a Model TVK199, but I suspect the answer might be fairly generic): The headphone jack on this TV is totally messed up. I'd like to replace it with...

If the audio jack [headphone] has two black bands then it is probably stereo. The first reason you tv phone jack is messed up is because you have an internal ground problem. You may have to resolder this...hope the board is not cracked. I would not advise you to jury rig an outside connection. To do so, you may short the audio chip and that is another problem...like no audio at all. Find someone who knows something about tv repair.

NO sound comes out of the headphone jack or the bottom plug in

All you need is a new headphone jack as yours may be messed up, or it may need to be checked as the cord may have came loose and just needs to be reconnected. They are pretty cheap to replace so it will not cost alot to fix.

Toshiba A10 headphone jack problem

I think you are on the right track, if the headphone jack is worn and shorting out itll kill the speakers because it thinks headphones are plgged in, ebay would be a good start for parts, maybe even call toshiba and speak to their tech support.

Need new headphone jack

I may have one to sell you. I have two nonfunctioning DS lite motherboards that I can remove the headphone jack from. Cost would be $8 plus $7.99 for shipping/handling. I can cut it off the motherboard and send it. Do you have the tools to open the DS up and solder a replacement on? If not, I would do that for you at $40 plus $7.99 shipping handling. Dell 610 lptop - haedphone not working,

First try uninstalling the sound drivers from the device manager, then reboot. It will find and reinstall them, then check Dell's support site for updated sound drivers. If you find updated drivers you will need to use the update button for the device in the device manager. If this doesn't work, then it may be a faulty headphone jack. The jack should override the speakers when the headphones are plugged into it. If you can still hear the speakers with the headphones plugged in then the jack is faulty and needs replaced. If the jack does override the speakers or if you get some static then it could be that the jack has come loose or has a loose or broken wire. The only other thing is try a different set of headphones, sometimes laptops get picky and one set will work and yet another set may not.

Head phonejack is loose

i have the exact same problem and went to the applestore to ask what solutions they suggest. either you can buy an adapter which goes in the bottom of the ipod and has the necessary headphone equipment. propably best to go to www.apple.com and look at the accessories. another solution is to send it to www.ipodrepairs.com. unfortunaley there are no solutions which are for free.

There is a reason for the headphone jack being loose. You either repeatedly plug and unplug your headphones, or the headphone's wire is to big. Nothing else to say, sorry!
