SOURCE: I just bought the Bostitch

Check the position of the switches and selectors. It sounds like you are in between settings. Also, put in a few drops of oil, and try your gun out on scrap wood, so oil doesn't come out on your good work.

SOURCE: Bostitch RN46 will not fire nail, only releases

Gun will not fire if air is leaking past orings in head /headvalve or safety /trigger is not pushing trigger pin all the way into trigger valve. Test: Remove trigger to expose trigger valve pin. Remove nails. Place nose of gun against thick rubber mat or coiled rubber hose to absorb blow of driver. Very quickly and deliberately press trigger pin all the way in. If gun fires, safety foo or trigger is not pushing trigger pin all the way in. Make adjustments or replace worn parts. If gun still does not fire, remove head and pull out headvalve. Apply lots of silicone paste lube on the orings and the surface of the head where orings make contact. Reinstall head and test as above. If the gun fires then orings were leaking. Replace orings and sand any scratches on body of cap with very fine sand paper. Parts are at www.toolpartsdirect.com Good luck

I have a bostitch floor staplet 111 and when I hook up the air to it air leaks out of the top and runs all of the air out of compressor please help

Below the rubber bumper is the poppet actuator. The actuator has 3 screws that attached it to the actual poppet below. If the screws do not seat well and/ or if the gasket between these two parts is bad, air will leak out the top. Remove the poppet actuator to check oring on the actuator and the surface of the body of the gun where the oring makes contact. Look for damage to actuator or side wall and repair as needed (sand sidewall where oring makes contact with very fine sandpaper if scratched or dented). If oring does not fit snuggly against sidewall, use teflon tape below oring. Parts are available at www.bostitch.com.

If its the stapler I believe it is (SX1838) it has a broken driver. These staplers have a factory flaw in them, the drivers are faulty. Bostitch has since repaired the problem from the factory but their are still nailers out there that have this problem. Sounds like you have one of them, its an easy 5 min fix but you need to go to a Bostitch cervice center in your area and get a fresh driver installed. Your stapler has a 7 years warranty so it won't cost you anything. As a Bostitch service center I have done hundreds of those staplers, once the driver is changed ou shouldn't have this problem anymore.
