Question about Computers & Internet
I have discovered that my screen only freezes up when I'm on my AC adapter. If on the battery, i have no problems. I have further confirmed this with tests with other AC adapters. I don't know what the cause is yet. I';m suprized more people haven't had the same issue. I plan on scoping the supply for distortion. This is very aggravating and is definitely caused by using an AC adapter.
I was going to suggest scoping the AC adapter, but you say it happens with others?
You may have a regulator on the Motherboard going on the outs. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but check how much ripple voltage comes from the adapter, with a good MultiMeter check what DC is actually being produced and if one is being dragged down. This one sounds like a tough one and if it's under warranty, let them deal... If not... Farm it out to a reputable.
