I have just been looking at a few of these and there is a filter on the system this needs changing or clean from time to time as it will get a build up of calcium and lime scale etc blocks the filter, hard water area should be more clean'd as the build up happen more you can find out if you have hard water by your hot water kettle if it has a thick scale on it.

There is a hose hooked up so we don't have to empty the bucket all the time and it has stopped going through the hose - not sure why?

The reason it's stopped going thru the hose, is that either the hose is stopped up or the hose connection and interior tubing is clogged. When this occurs, water is diverted into the bucket.

The hose is easy to check for a clog. Remove the 5' section and either blow thru it or look thru it .

To clear a clog in the hose connection and/or interior tubing turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then do the following

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection hole . Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reconnect the hose plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose for water flow to the floor drain.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hanger
,

Hope this helped you to solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have attached a hose and the bucket continues to fill - this has only started in the last two weeks - last year and prior to two weeks ago, it was draining well

From what you have described, either the hose is clogged or the hose connection tubing inside the unit is clogged.

The hose is easy to solve. Just, disconnect it and either blow thru it or look thru it.

If the clog is not in the hose, it's in the hose connection tubing of the unit. To solve this do the following:

1. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF & Unplug the unit.

2. Using an 18" long, plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers, though) that is appropriately sized to fit in to the hose connection tubing .. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in, until you reach a bend in the tubing. You must gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms put or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Now, slowly remove it while rotating (twisting) the Zip Tie. This will dislodge any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

To avoid clogs in the future, clean the air intake filter regularly. At least once every two weeks.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Wont drain through the hose

More than likely, te problem lies within the hose or the hose connector tubing inside the unit. Either one is clogged. The hose is easy to inspect. Just remove it and either blow thru it or look for light at the opposite end of the hose. If there's nothing there, then it's in the hose connector tubing.

Using an 18" long, plastic Zip Tie ( or something similar. NO wire coat hangers though) that's appropriately sized to fit the hole. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to work it in, unit you reach the bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work it past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you reach the end of usable Zip Tie. Slowly pull the Zip Tie out while rotating (twisting) it. This will break up any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

That should take care of it. Also, if your bucket has a Float Valve in the top of it, make sure the Float Valve is in the Down position. If it's stuck in the UP position, gently shake the arm to make it return to the Down Position.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

The hose stopped draining the water. How do I reset?

It's not a question of how to reset the unit. It's a question of how to unclog either the hose or the hose connector tubing inside the unit.

The hose is easy to check and unclog. Turn the unit OFF and unplug it. Disconnect the hose from the connector and either look thru it or blow thru it. If you see light at the other end of the hose or air blows thru freely, the clog is not in the hose. It's in the hose connection tubing.

Using an 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, that's appropriately sized to fit in the hole of the hose connection. Carefully insert it unitl it reaches a bend in the tubing. Gingerly work it past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Slowly pull it out while rotating (twisting) it. This will dislodge any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.
If you don't have an 18" long Plastic Zip Tie and don't want to run out to get one, you can use something similar that is flexible and log enough. DO NOT use a wire coat hanger.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

The dehumidifier is blow cold air

Is it collecting water? The air coming out the back top half should be cool/warm. It will be a little warmer at the bottom near the compressor.

Ice on dehumidifier

A dehumidifier works by cooling the metal pipes on the back of the unit to create condensation (water vapor in the air). This then drips into the collector bucket. If the unit runs too long the cooling tubes can get too cold and freeze the condesing water vapor. Unplug the dehumidifier and let the ice melt, when u turn it back on, turn it down, it may be up too high. If you find this solution helpful please rate it.

Thanks - Tech101
