The plug design they use is proprietary. So you would have to cut off the plug and connect your own jack to the wiring to be able to use it elsewhere.

You most likely can use it with another system however, you will need to search for a schematic for the s-video to find out what kind of power supply you would need to buy to power the sub-woofer and what pins you would use to connect the audio signal.

hi,
Do you mean sub woofer. Then you can select any brands Active sub woofer ( active means built in amplifier) to connect with your system. They comes in different power (watts). you can use an active sub woofer with 100W output.
connect the sub woofer pre out of you amp to the pre input of sub woofer.
ok

I found that one of the pins of the plug connecting the sub-woofer was bent and the plug was not seating properly deep in to the slot. Every pin has a specific task to the sound system, it seems. I set right the bent pin with a long needle gently and re- plugged in to the woofer's slot. After that every thing works amazingly. All it requires is patience and application of mind for a while exclusively focused on the problem.

I really dont have a problem, moreso i am trying to figure out if the speakers that I am wanting to get are compatible with the amp, and if they are going to sound good.

what amp and what woofers???

basically as long as your amp has enough power to run the woofers the system will work but factors such as box type, vehicle, woofer direction, amp tuning, etc. will have more effect on the system as a whole. so here is some basics...
> what kind of vehicle?
> what kind of box (sealed, vented, bandpass, etc.)?
> what kind of music do you listen to (how much rap in percentage of all music you listen to)?
> what head unit, amp, and woofers?
> how much bass are you wanting?
> are you building this system on a budget and if so how much are you expecting to spend?

that is a good place to start in my opinion.

The speakers is the round green socket. The yellow 9 pin socket is a MIDI/Game controller socket.

JVC Sub-Woofer

Well, sort of. It's part of a typical JVC shelf system. The gray and blue are for the left woofer and the red and black are for the right woofer. It's basically just two small "woofers" in a box. So unless you have a small amplifier that has 2 subwoofer outputs with a built in crossover, they are essentially useless.

You can easily buy RCA conectors and splice them. Remove the 1/8 plug from the speakers and strip the ends and add the RCA connector. I am not so sure of what it would sound like but the ohms may be different.
