Question about ViewSonic Optiquest Q9b 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

The first troubleshooting step for a blacked out screen is to try another screen on your computer. If the other screen works, than you have narrowed the problem to a faulty screen. If that is the case, than it's time for a new screen. If the different screen is still black, than there are several options to pursue. First of all if the screen never loads anything when you turn the computer on than this could be faulty graphics, either a bad video card, or faulty integrated graphics.
It can also be the the RAM, the memory modules that have failed. Or the hard drive just is not loading the operating system. Check and see if the fan(s) are moving, or can you here any beeps when the computer starts? It would be easier to diagnose this problem if you gave more details as to just what is happening.
