The power LED lite indicator is solid green, but no pic.?This tv is very fixable, take it to the shop, they will order a refurbish circuit board call a T-con board from some wesites source and repalaced it for u.This should cost u half the price of a new tv.If ur power LED lite indicator is blinking and no pic.,they will replaced defective leakages capacitors in the power supply board,or replaced the power board all together.
I fixed this problem in my DVP642 by replacing a capacitor on the main
power board where the power chord hooks in. Take the top cover off
(after unplugging player). You'll be able to locate the bad capacitor
on the circuit board located on the very right. Look for location
marked c316 on the circuit board. A bad capacitor will be bulged up on
top. The capacitor you're looking for will be a black barrel shape with
an aluminum top, this aluminum top will be bulged up or leaking on the
circuit board. Replace this capacitor by desoldering the two leads into
the board and replacing with an identical part you can pick up at Radio
Shack for a couple dollars. My repair for this identical problem was a
success. The blinking light is the tip off for this particular problem
on these Phillips models.
a lot of times when a set is dropped the printed circuit board gets cracked, the only way to tell is to remove the back and printed circuit board and check; if not too badly damaged can be 'hard wired' across breaks and fixed
Replace both convergence ICs number STK392-040 You can get replacements at the following link and they will provide free instalation instructions with pics and also give free tech support on line so you can do the repair yourself. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
drives dead. Head crash problem.
The read head, has clattered the disk(s)
the only other option is to swap the logic boards over ( if they,re identical ) ** circuit boards on the drives**

Moe,You have several Broken Conns via your Mother Board after doing about 500 in the Past 8 yrs,What you need to do is Get a Magnifying Glass and look at the Bottom of the Main Board and look for Ring Breaks around Conns *Note,Any thing on a HeatSink or Plug Conns,Will be Checked First,Use 60/40 Solder and a low heat soldering Pencil to Fix
Good Luck ttech
if this problem happens after such aive mins and it is consistently giving that same problem to every time the set is turned on then it is a cold solder in your circuit of the video.if it gives that problem on start up ten the video amp and related circuit should be checked.have a tech check your tv.good luck.
