Question about Apple iPod Audio Players & Recorders
Well, to turn it off normally, just HOLD the sleep/wake button for 6 seconds or so and sliding the power-off button. To turn it off completely, as in a frozen state, hold BOTH the SLEEP/WAKE button and the HOME button for about 6~10 seconds and it should shut down without asking you to slide to shut off.

If its an iPod classic just hold the play button, the one at 6 o'clock, for a few seconds and it shuts down.
