Gateway 5472 won't power up

You must register some sounds and usual noise from the case. If you consider that power supply works, try to unplug all unnesessary parts, and remain with CPU+Graphics+Memory. You are now closer to eliminate the current problem.

Hey, i have a gateway gm 5472. when i try to boot the computer up, firstly, i have no video or sound, the led power light does not come on, but the fams run. I have a MCP61PM-AM motherboard in it with Amd...

I would have suspected that your RAM needs to be removed, cleaned & then replaced which more often than not sorts out the problem you have described.
But since you mention the power LED not working, I suspect that you have a faulty power supply.
Try connecting a power supply from another working PC to see if this solves the problem.
If so, power supplies are relatively inexpensive & shouldn't set you back more than $20-$30 for a descent unit.

Best wishes,

Hey, i have a gateway gm 5472. when i try to boot the computer up, firstly, i have no video or sound, the led power light does not come on, but the fams run. what could it be

unfortunately, this sounds like you may have some dead hardware, try unplugging everything from the motherboard, and only leave the cpu, one stick of ram, and plug the monitor into the on board port (remove the video card).
Now try to boot the pc.
If you have no luck, try the ram in a different slot, or try a different stick of ram.
If you still have no luck, try the cpu in another motherboard to find out if it is faulty.

If you can get your motherboard to boot with one stick of ram and the cpu in place, turn it off and start adding components one by one, booting up each time to find out which piece of hardware is causing the failure.

Gm 5472 won't turn on

This either an issue with the power supply or motherboard. The best way to test is to replace the power supply and try to power it on to see if it works.

Something else you can try is, unplug all cables from the PC, open the case and the plug only the power in, turn it on and check to see if the fans turn on. If the fans turn on then it's most likely an issue with the motherboard but the best way to test is to replace the power supply and test.

Hope this Helps

maybe it is your motherboard, reset bios ... because you can see anything do as it follows , unlupg power coard-open case - pull out little silver battery- wait 10 sec-put it back in- switch power cord and start your computer.. that will reset your bios. cmos more exactlly... if you see the boot menu it is ok.. but if you can go to os.. then you must set you bios video output to pci... try and write back

Power coored got computor wood not come on unplug it all night

You should try looking inside the tip of the power coard. Alot of the tobisha notebook power coards break when they are unpluged and pluged back in check to see if there is a smal copper wire inside the tip of the charger. if it does not simpily replace the charger.

My LCD monitor is going into power saving mode

The monitor doesn't receive the signal from the PC. It is either the PC not booting up or the VGA coard is faulty. Change the VGA coard. or try reseting the VGA cord.
