Your explanation is vague, so start with the basics:Check your CD's for scratches and foreign materials stuck or spilled on them, including greasy fingerprints. Try to run a cleaner if you have one, and visually check the inside for any foreign objects that could have accidentally gotten in there. More specific details would help a ton more. thanks

Thanks for this. The problem I have is when I put a cd into the CD player it plays for about 30 seconds then stops. This does not affect other inputs such as the tape and radio just the cd.

Does it auto eject after it stops? Can you here the "hum" of any type of motor slowly come to a stop? Its so hard to diagnose over the net. Could be so many things

  • coxputty Apr 13, 2014

    No. It

  • coxputty Apr 13, 2014

No, the cd doesn't eject and there is no other discernable sound. It just complete

  • coxputty Apr 13, 2014

It just completely cuts out. Only way to start it is by turning it off completely and starting again, then it cuts out again!

If we can pay attention to clean everything and see things that needed to be careful as well, perhaps it would be better, I agree with you.http://www.friv3go.com

Thanks you for this. The CD player is completely enclosed, so, it's impossible to check inside unless I start undoing screws at the back of the unit. Cd's stop even on brand new ones. When the cd stops I can hear it whirling inside and the display continues to count the seconds on the cd as if it were. Playing. If I turn the complete unit off and start again, the cd plays again for 30seconds and then cuts out the same. The tape and radio are completely unaffected.

Technics CD player stops playing offer 30 seconds

More than likely 1 of 2 things (or both) have failed...
1) CD Mechanism failure. This is the actual lens and CD tray that holds the CD.
2) The load motor. This is the motor that controls the movement of the CD lens.
If either of these has failed, you'll need to replace the CD Mechanism entirely. All depends on the model CD player you have. If it's a Technics, 99.9% chance part is no longer available, since the ENTIRE Technics line is no more. So the only parts you will find are what is left. They do not manufacturer anything new.

Cd skips back

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, buy a CD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if this fails! far cheaper to replace the player.

Technics SL-MC60 error message: "Take out"

Hello
If a disc has been put in the slot of the disc in play, Remove the disc, whose number is displayed, and press stop button.
Because of light or noise, the changer has detected a disc in the lot of the disc being played, even though it is empty. Check whether there is a disc in the displayed slot. With front panel closed, hold down "STOP " button for atl least four seconds or more.

SUV500 2-Channel Amplifier: Hi! can I connect another technics cd-player,sl...

yes you can connect another cd player to the DAT input of your amp.
input connections like DAT, TUNER, CD, AUX etc (except phono) is just to differentiate between what sources are connected, the amp cannot tell what source is connected and will output the sound no problem.

as for the remote operation, if the 2 technics cd players are switched on at the same time they're going to do what you command from the remote together but you'll obviously be listening to 1 at a time.

this player uses a philips mechanism, spindle motor failure is very common on these mechanisms, yours may be on its way out. take the lid off and insert a cd and if you can hear the laser trying to read the cd without it spinning, it's definately the spindle motor.
