Teledyne Laars ESC Series 2 ignition

Old system - I need a manual! Anyone know of where I might be able to download one? Unit in a home we bought - does not turn on. Have to diagnose, but appears that there is no transformer output...

Thanks,

Andy

Online at Jandy, they only had a parts list and exploded diagram - no manual...

Unless - it is buried in there somewhere - can you supply a link?

Again - it is a Teledyne Laars ESC Series 2 - an older unit from late 1993 or early 1994...

Thanks for your help - I appreciate your efforts.

Go to www.laars.com and download a manual for your model. Get the model number from the heater, and look up a manual. If yours is a milivolt model, the pilot must be working to troubleshoot further. The manuals will be full of information.

Pilot will light but heater will not ignight

You may need to replace the Ignition Module. Have someone check to see if it is sending power. I have the same problem and need to replace the Fenwal automatic ignition system. The part cost $390 - check inside the heater for the model #

Laars Teledyne Pool heater flames on for 2 seconds, shuts off

You have no flame rectification.....LLD series heaters check for a signal through the flame to ground; if the module does not detect this signal, it go through two more trials for ignition and then lock out the module. There should be a flame rod and it may need cleaning. I use steel wool.
