If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

HP LP3065 monitor turns off and won't turn back on; is this a Windows problem

It doesnt sound like a windows problem. A simple test for this is to unplug the vga or hdmi cable from the monitor then turn it on if it has power it should say no signal. Also try either another power cable to the monitor or change the fuse. Hope this helps.

My monitor had been working fine, but recently when the computer comes up, it is on for a few minutes and you can use it normally, but then it will turn itself off. You turn the monitor off and back on,...

Try changing the cables first and see if this will fix it, if not, im sorry to say, but you need to replace the monitor. If your monitor is still covered by the warranty, you can call dell techsupport so they could replace it. Hope this helps

Dell SP2208WFP Flat Panel Monitor goes straight to power save mode

If the monitor is not turning blue that means it isn't picking up on the signal that is coming to it.
Pushing the power button on the monitor should make the monitor work and give you a no signal note if it isn't getting signal.
If it won't power on with its own power button you maybe having a low voltage problem in the monitor itself which isn't giving it enough to fire up after it has been sitting.
Just a note these monitors use and make power even when they are off, unless they are unplugged.
I'm thinking along this route also because when you said you unplugged it for a while that it did turn back on.
Only way to verify it, is to double check the monitor on another computer. and if it is the same then it will have to come apart.
Power issues are very common in lcd monitors, Lots of heat in a confined space. The bigger they get the hotter they get.
You would think they would have incorporated internal fans in these by now. But then they wouldn't sell as many !!!

Strange delay.

I'm having the exact same strange delay problem as you.
I fixed my delay when I too took my machine to your girlfriends. LOL!

No seriously.... you solved your delay problem yourself when you UNPLUGGED the power cord from the back of the monitor.

My guess is that when you unplug the power cord, the monitor resets itself. It's only a temporary fix, but, IT WORKS.

1. Turn the monitor OFF
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor
3. Wait 10-15 seconds or so
4. Plug the power cord back in
5. Turn your monitor ON........DELAY ELIMINATED.

The delay returns eventually, but, I just unplug-n-replug and I'm good to go again.
