Haveing problems with hp notebook 1100 boot mgr missing error while initializing NIC

Hi There,
I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by this - are you attempting to boot from LAN? Are you able to boot into windows at all?
What it sounds like is that your computer is either missing a boot manager, or you've assigned (in the bios) LAN boot as the priority boot device.
If that's the case, you can change the boot device priority back to internal hard disk in your BIOS (pressing F2 or F10 at startup splash screen)
If you're missing a boot manager for a windows installation, you can insert your windows installation disk and select "repair an existing installation" to repair your boot manager

I want to reboot and put a new version of windows

The first step you'll need to take is to backup all of your data to a second hard drive or thumb drive. After that it is normally best to get the drivers for the new software for your current machine prior to installing a new OS. Video, chipset, and network drivers will be your main priority. After you have done all this you will need to reboot your machine with the new install disk in the CD tray. From there you will need to hit F12 repeatedly, this should pop up a boot menu which will allow you to choose to boot from your Install disk. After you choose to boot from the CD you will need to hit any key on the keyboard once the prompt "Press any key to boot from CD:" pops up. This will take you to the windows installer and allow you to continue with the installation. Once the disk loads all of the utilities needed you will need to reformat the hard drive by deleting the current partitions. Once this is done simply choose the hard drive to install the OS on and follow the prompts.

PXE-E61: media test failure/PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM/Operating system not found. This message is coming up on my screen. The only thing I can access is F2

Hi, welcome to FixYa.

Apparently, the error of your system is missing operating system, this could caused by many things, from broken hard disk to missing boot record such as MBR.

First, try to fix your BIOS start up setting. Depend on your BIOS setting, go to your BIOS by pressing F1 or F2 (apparently this is your key) or END during boot time. Then go to Boot Setting (this name is vary in any BIOS manufacture, so try to locate the similar name). Change the boot priority with first priority is your hard drive,

If you still don't able to boot, this can be caused by missing boot record such as MBR. This is little bit trickier. The fastest way (I assume you use Windows), is to insert your Windows installation CD/DVD then boot from there (by changing boot priority again from BIOS, or some new BIOS support pressing F12 to choose boot device). After you boot from there, repair your Windows.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!
