Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

0x8007045d 'Hi, I try to install W7 over an existing W8 due to a crash where W8 is unaccessible. The computer is a Fujitsu Lifebook w. a WDC WD5000LPVT disk. The W7 installation program detects two HDD's; #0 on which I can do nothing (internal Fujitsu stuff I guess) and #1 where I have removed, created and format a partition. While chosing that new partition the W7 installation progam returns an error message "Windows can't be isntalled on the chosen partiotion. Error code 0x8007045d". Can I work my way around this error or is the disk corrupt?

Unless you are trying to install the 64bit version of Windows 7, it is not compatible with a uefi boot option - this has to be switched in the bios - F2 to access your bios, then look under boot options (I don't have the specific menu for that laptop) what you want is to enable legacy boot options.

Here is some information - select legacy boot options

Testimonial: "Sorry, I forgot that piece of information. It actually is a 64 bit version of W7 so as fas as I know it should be doable?"

Try this - but it will delete all partitions and data on the hard drive: At the first screen, hit +. At the elevated command prompt type: diskpart list disk select disk 0 clean

Thanks, I'll try that. Accordingly, you do think I have to remove the partitions on disk 0? It is a small disk, only some 25GB, so I thought it would be better installaing on disk 1 which is much larger.

  • Syllamo Apr 13, 2014

I wish I could help further but truth is that after 13 years of microsoft support, I no longer install Windows operating systems on my machines, I go for the Linux Mint solution and have had nothing but good times since. That said - 25GB (that is funny) is probably a little small for the install unless you use the other partition for the documents (that is probably a good idea because it shouldn't affect your profile speed).

Well, unfortunately Linux is not an option here. Thank's for your help!

  • Syllamo Apr 13, 2014

No worries - so install windows into the 25gb partition and then configure windows to use the other partition for user profiles.

  • Syllamo Apr 13, 2014

This solution also has the added bonus of separating system from data

Right, I've used that config before. Struggling with the removal of disk 0 partitions right now.

  • Syllamo Apr 13, 2014

You have to try to go into legacy mode in order to do the install

SOURCE: I hit F8, here is the new error message

If this is all you are seeing, then this is not an error. What is happening here is that your computer is loading Safe Mode. This is a way to load Windows operating system without any extra software or programs, using the most basic drivers and software to load. There are a lot of benefits to accessing this mode, especially if you installed a program that stops you from getting into Normal Mode, or you have a virus that does the same. It makes it easy to troubleshoot. Here is a link to a website with a little more info:

http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/s/safemode.htm

If you load your computer normally by not pressing any keys, then you should be fine.

SOURCE: error unitialized corrupt boot structure detected

try repairing the file system using chkdsk with /f switch. However, it is strongly recommended to run this tool only if you have a full data backup
. To do so, click \'Start\' and then \'Run\'. You can then type \'chkdsk /f <drive name>\' in the \'Open\' box and click OK. Here, the drive name should be exactly what is appearing in error message. Alternatively, you can opt for deleting the corrupt partition provided the backup is available. If no good backup exists, you should consider to use a Windows Data Recovery utility. These are powerful and valid Windows partition recovery utilities built to scan the corrupt or deleted partitions and safely recover the lost data. The applications are easy to install and use.

Make sure you cd with OS is clean and not damaged since this will some times cause issues. This error usually means you computer is not seeing hard drive for some reason.. the partition is not getting on it probably because of bad sectors. i rare situations it will be because of mother board since i have had the same problem. first make sure your hard drive is set as master under pin selection. most times cable select is ok but it might not work always even that it was not changed. make sure ide or sata cable is firmly in or better just remove it and put it back in snug. when you do format do a regular and not quick even that you have done it already since this will attempt to fix bad HD sectors. if this does not work try another hard drive or try this one on another machine if you have one. Hope this helps.

Hi is there any way i can upgrade my windows xp to windows 7 for free

I am sorry. There is no legal way to do it for free.
  • The W7 is end-of-sale product. It is hard to buy.
  • It is security risk if you will install some cracked W7. Modified (cracked) unofficial installation sources include trojans or other malware very often.
  • A Windows 8 is good successor. My experience: The W8 is better than W7. Only some details (Start icon) are missing. I have modified the W8 setting, desktop etc. to be similar to W7 and I have become accustomed to W8. You need not use many strange W8 features if you do not like it. I ignore them all too: Loging-in by MS account, Microsoft Store, Bing search engine, Internet Explorer etc.
What do you prefer? A system for free or a Windows?
  • If you insist on Windows, you must pay.
  • If you need good system for free, use a Linux. The Ubuntu is very good option. It is working on all my PC's for years. I install it every time either as a sole system or as a second one. This my answer is written by Firefox running on Ubuntu Linux e.g.
You can follow the links, read about Ubuntu and try it without installation for first time. Requested contributing is not mandatory. Fill $0 or go directly to link: Not now, take me to the download

What would be some more powerful motherboard upgrade on a a6700f HP with 630watts and dual monitor graphics card from ATI?

any top Asus mobo is best, IMO. no better.
ever go to there web site?
but...........
w8
how are you doing that. from what media, and who's
HP media. (nah, ,its not supported.
Microsoft.
? what media, why not say that first.
(Stick,CD/DVD, ? )
btw if you do that, (W7) the HP disks are now useless. , alien mobo's. are never supported by HP.
(the HP lic with MS dictates that, its a discounted OEM license)
{vista or w7}

do you have full retail license for w8?
why not put in a new SSD drive, ending HDD horrors. now.

i cant guess the bottle neck is the HDD. or infections.
internet speed, HDD? or what. or media installs?
or was infected and then fails to upgrade over infections.
do a fresh install, is best, for SURE.

if that is slow, from a USB mem stick, (not CD)
then the HDD is bad.
if using any CD or DVD to install it will take many long hours.
CD are slow.

a6700f HP desktop came with Vista or w7

HP does NOT support W8 on this pC.
why try to buck that rule?

if you were do that you'd need new MS disks, (HP dont have them)
so did you get MS disks
or buy a MS coa key from MS?
then down load the MS dot com,, ISO file.
then burn the USB stick with this ISO
then boot to the USB stick and install w8 fresh?
only this might work,
but be advised the HP drivers do NOT work on W8.
(a few might) but not all.
ONCE here, only you and microsoft can fix this pc. its not HP now.
the product is years old now. in 3 more years zero support.

I'd try this.
W8 license. (coa key) and downloaded w8 ISO file.
new sdd
put w8 on the USB ISO stick, boot to this stick
do a full fresh W8 install.
be connected to the internet using a wired Ethernet cable to your router.

if this fails maybe your PSU is bad
or system is overheating, fans dead, psu fan dead, or tons of dust in pc blocking all vents and fans,.

first pc year for this pc is 2008 (carbondated by me)
never see any 9year old CP, will have problems and full of dust.

that is it, seen vast pc fail for vast reasons, bad MOBO , rare.

Hi,

I had the same problem, even after updating drivers, but I found solution.

1. Go to website:
http://www.pc-ap.fujitsu.com/support/drv_lb_vista_p7230.html
2. Download file: Camera Driver (for model with Fujitsu WebCam module) V.1.0.0.1088b
3. Unzip it
4. Open "fujitsu_webcam" folder
5. Run "Setup" and follow instruction
6. When installation is finished restart computer can be required.
7. Next, go to START, and open WebCam in Camera. Check settings. Now, everything should be OK.

Enjoy :)
