How can I reinstall windows 7 if I don't have a disk and my laptop won't boot

I'm sorry but to reinstall Windows 7 you need a disk with pre-loaded Windows 7, a flash drive with pre-loaded Windows 7, or a networked image with pre-loaded Windows 7.

Can asus k42f be ugraded to windows 8?

Windows 8 has updated drivers as much as you would get from Asus built into win 8.

Go to devise MGR, if windows 8 did not load drivers, you will see a flag.

See what hardware did not load a driver and then use the win 7 driver.

You don't do anything to make a win 7 driver work, if the driver is newer, and signed it will install, if it's older then the driver windows installed, it won't install. If you see a flag and windows did not install a driver, then try the win 7 driver, or go to the MFG of the hardware and see if there is a win 8 driver.

You can also run windows update, if win update see's a newer driver out it might pick it up and give you a install option.

Now, your chipset, and most hardware has windows 8 drivers out.

The drivers are the biggest problem, the biggest problem for you is the BIOS was not set for windows 8.

So you could find even with the best drivers, win 8 slower or has bugs more then win 7 will have.

Me, I would bench test all the hardware with win 7, then with win 8 and see which one is better.

Have tried all possible "F" button start up options. Will not recognize vista dvd. When loading safe mode, stops loading drivers and freezes. Cant get to anything but Bios. All other options are ask

Some BIOS use other keys like the ESC key. It should be noted on the screen during boot. Plus some have an adhoc boot one time boot menu.

You could also make sure the CD is bootable on another pc.

Hp g 60 keboard is not working

If you have windows 7, you could try to update the driver software for it. Most time the driver is not up to date.
Also you can reinstall the OS/windows again.
This may work for other OS too.
Another solution may be to boot up in safe mode. When computer is first turned on press F8 right before windows logo starts loading.
Try to use system restore to an earlier saved point when it was working.
This is another quick fix, if you are on a laptop, turn off the computer, unplug the AC adapter it, take out the battery, hold the power button to the right for 30 seconds, put the battery back in, plug the AC adapter back in, turn it on.
On pc, you will want to unplug the pc and the keyboard, wait a few seconds and plug them back in.
They should work now, then update the drivers right away, before they freeze again.
Good luck

Windows startup very slow win 7 sp1

this sounds like a BIOS update needed, I have a jetway motherboard that did the exact same thing and after visiting the manufacturers website and obtaining a BIOS Update my PC is now as fast booting up as it is when it fully loaded. Visit the dell website if you haven't already and go to the download and drivers section enter your service tag scroll down find the BIOS part in the drivers section, Then follow the on-screen prompts carefully read how to install it write it down if necessary then update your BIOS and within a very short time you should be booting up at light speed instead of turtle speed. Hope this helps.

It is a 2005 machine and was designed for Vista so an upgrade from Vista to Win7 may work as the drivers will need updating as it loads one OS from the other OS.
A bios update would possibly help also.

How do i fix the blue screen at boot with windows 7 on a qosmio f45

You most likely have a driver conflict if you get the "Blue Screen of Death". The screen has information on it to point to the problem area. If you are not a Tech you need someone to decipher the information and recommend a fix. Try booting into Safe-Mode by pressing the F5 key during the boot process. If Windows loads sucessfuly you can go to the Control Panel-System-Hardware-Device Manager and see what device or devices have an issue and load a new driver or updated driver from the device manufacturer. Good Luck! If all else fails and you just loaded Windows 7 you may need to format the drive and start over making certain you have all the latest drivers compatable with Windows 7 for your device's. It is best to go on the Web and collect the drivers in advance of loading 7.

Try starting from the windows cd. Basically you want to make sure you haven't lost the Video totally. Boot the machine but go into BIOS setup before windows loads. If you can see you BIOS settings make sure the machine meets the requirements of Windows 7 as each time windows updates the system requirements increase. If it does meet these try loading Windows 7 again but choose a lower video setting or use the generic video driver.

Dell Latitude D800- Keyboard and mouse stop working when undocked.

First update any drivers for your dell.

www.support.dell.com

Is the dock a dell dock, or a universal Dock?

the drivers may need updating.

Some times when you plug a dock in, and turn it on, they will load them into the drivers and when you unplug it, it gets confused and when you boot it up it has to re-install the original drivers and does this while its booting.

This happens alot with the GX620 desktops. If you pull a USB keyboard out while its off and plug it back into a different USB port and tun it on. It wont work right away.

We end up having to let it sit at the login screen for a while till it reloads the drivers to the new USB port.

You will know if yours is doing this as the Hard drive light will be flickering and running.

Try booting it up and letting it load windows and waiting a few minutes.
