Question about Samsung HL-R6167W 61" HDTV

1 Answer

No picture on a HLR6167

I was given the TV and told by the owner that the only problem was that the colorwheel needed to be replaced. I did that myself and when I tried to turn on the TV, all I can see is a flashing "Lamp" on the power button. I don't have a manual so I'm not exactly sure what that means. Could I have forgotten to attach one of the connections when I put it all back together or do I need to replace the lamp as well?

The picture come on then goes black and then the television turns off. I thought it might be a bulb problem (4 years old). So I bought a new bulb, seemed to work and then began to go black again with all 3...

when the colorwheels start to go bad this is the symtom that shows up. try this listen carefully to the rear of the tv near the lamp door. as you turn off the tv if you hear a slight grinding noise as the colorwheel slows down that means the bearings inside the colorwheel are dry and you will need to replace the colorwheel.
