TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY MY GEARSHIFT LIGHT IS NOT WORKING AND IF ITS MY BULB I WOULD LIKE THE LOCATION ITS A1995 VOLVO
It's almost always the bulb.
Remove the coin holder. Under it you remove the T25 torx screw then remove the cigarette lighter. The other T25 Torx screw is under it. Remove the front small console and unplug the 2 wires to the lighter and pull the light straight out.
Located down below the holder will be 2 T15 Torx screws, remove them. Down inside where the 2 T15 Torx screws are (down in the botton) there are 2 large wire connectors remove them both. They just pull out from their sockets.
Open your center console arm rest and remove the cover on the bottom, you will find 2 T25 Torx screws there. Remove them. Set the parking brake, so the handle is as high as you can go. Remove the little plate that sits under the parking brake, it should just pop out. Lift the rear of the arm rest and pull the console out at about a 45 degree angle.
Now you can reach under the gear shifter plate and pull out the bulb. It is on the left side of the shifter and has two wires going into it. If I remember right they are pink and black. You will have to get the bulb from the dealer. Then reinstall in reverse order.
Hope this helps.
