Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Please double check all of your connecons. Mght be time to invest in a vom multimeter. About $20 at Sears. I started their with the same problem long before my engineering degree. .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

CHECK ALL YOUR POWER AND GROUND CONNECTIONS, THE SMALLEST PINCH WILL MAKE IT DO THAT.

Subwoofer goes to sleep

The receiver automatic speaker set-up set the sub volume at -12 and since it was not getting any signals from the receiver it was doing what it is supposed to be doing (going to the standby mode). This was troubleshooted by Onkyo tech support on a Sunday. All the best about Onkyo customer support.

Red light

something is shorted in the circuit, or your subs. unhook the subs first and try it again, if it is still in protect then it is most likely the output transistors.

Powers on but no sound

Check the main amp fuse under the hood, even if it looks good just change it. Often times that light on the amp can come on just from the power amp tunon wire. Try a friends subwoofer box just to make sure the connectors on your box are good, and if that doesn't work then give me some more details....year/make/model of car, what kind of sub, what types of things do you see on the side of the amp....is there a green light as well as a red light?

No Sound/ lights flashing on Amp

Disconnect your subs from the amp. If the lights go out then your sub is blown and is putting the amp into protect. If the lights keep flashing even with the subs disconnected than the Amp is toast.
