Pictures too Big to E-mail

I just took pics with my fe-110 camera. the size is set to 1600x1200. i was told to use this to produce nice pictures. however, i am trying to e-mail these out and they are too big for people to receive. is there a way that i can change them back to 640x480 after they have already been downloaded to my pc? i use adobe photoshop album, but also have the olympus software and could reload them to that, if the option is there to change the dimension. thank you.

Re: Pictures too Big to E-mail

You could always resize them on Photobucket, its a free photo hosting site...I do advise to make this account private.

You can change the upload size on photobucket, then only send the url address for the image, this will save your friends download usage with their provider

How can I email the pictures? Do I need an easyshare special something or is it through wifi? Someone plz help!!! Thank you!

This is an 8.2gig camera so pictures right out of the camera are to big in file size to e-mail.
A lot has to depending on where you have the quality set on the camera. Are the pictures you want to sent already taken or is this something that you are going to shoot then send. If the pictures have already been taken you need some type of imaging program to reduce the size of the file. Most common (photo industry standard is Photoshop) saying that most computer programing today has some type of image programing but life would be so much easier if you had the image software loaded that came with the camera. Mac or PC today's e-mail can handle an image that is 680 pixels on the long side at 72 dpi High speed sending and receiving can handle 1200 on the long side at 72dpi. Okay going forward if the pictures have not been made yet you can "de-tune" your camera to produce an image right out of the camera at 1280x960 through the image quality set up in camera.

How do I change the megapixels

If you right-click the picture file and then click on e-mail, you will be presented with choices of picture size. Choose one and it will open your e-mail with the pic attached, ready to mail. Your original pic remains untouched.

Cannot send pictures by e-mail

You need to change the size of the picture in your computer. Just right-click on the picture and choose e-mail. Choose more options and pick a size. Your e-mail will open with the picture attached and your original will not be touched.

Olympus FE 230 -Not able to retrieve pictures, only format option

You may try some photo recovery software to rescue the files on your Olympus camera, here are some for your options.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Recovery for Mac

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the memory card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

Purple smear display, not producing photos at all

Here in Spain , and also in USA, if the trouble is CCD ( image sensor ) they will replace it AT NO COST FOR YOU!!!! (even if guarantee is over )

They told me it has been a common problem in all cameras of that series.

Good luck!

Large pictures on computer screen

I wouldn't recommend it. You'll never know when you want to order prints and lowering the size settings will give poor quality. I would go with downloading picasa as it as a nice option to re-size big pictures for emails (keeping the originals intact).
