Question about Maytag PTB1954GR Top Freezer Refrigerator
The back half of the tray is not cold enough. The ice cubes form one huge ice chunk. The freezer temp is set to 7.
We need to check the defrost timer first. It's located inside the fresh food compartment and inside the control panel. There should be a small opening through the panel that you can place a flathead screwdriver. Turn slowly clockwise until the refrigerator compressor stops. Leave it alone for about 30 minutes. If it does not restart then the timer is bad and will need replaced. If not then we need to unplug the refrigerator and remove the rear panel inside the freezer and inspect the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. Let me know when you need more assistance, Thanks Sea Breeze
Timer part number may depend on if the model is correct listed above your post. Part # 68233-3
