Sounds like a siezed mandral or idler pulley, possibly the belt jumped off and is caught between a pulley and the deck or belt guide

Why does a craftsman tracor with a kohler 15.5 hp engine bogg down when engaging blades

It will initially bog down when engaging, but should pick back up shortly after. If it is staying bogged down, turn mower off and check inside (under) the deck to make sure its not clogged up with grass clippings or dirt. if it is, clean it with either a hose or a scraper. Also make sure the deck is raised when you engage (dont engage with deck lowered on long grass).

Check the seat switch it might be disconnected. It will cut the mower off if you leave the seat without disengaging the deck.

Motion belt was recently replaced and the mower seemed to be operating as intended; mowed the lawn with no problem. The next time I tried to use it I discovered that, as soon as the mower deck is engaged,...

This could well be a miro switch issue, start with the seat switch make sure the connector is fully pushed onto the micro switch, if no better make sure you are fully sat in the seat to activate the switch, if still no better replace the switch.

Stalls When engaging the blade clutch

Check that the blade brake is disengaging. Slip belt off blade spindles and check that they spin freely. Check underside of deck for clogged grass, ropes, wire, etc.

You should be able to push it forwards as well as backwards. I had a similar problem (engine stalling) with mine. I found out if I half choke it, it will stay running. Transmission may still have a problem.

Craftsman 42 in. deck lawn tractor. Will start and idle fine but when you let out on the clutch the motor bogs down and dies

few reasons will try to narrow down first start it and put in neutral and deck disengaged release clutch if bogs then fuel problem the carb may need adjustment or repair or fuel filter needs replacement----if no bog step on clutch no put in gear release clutch if bogs check drive belt -upper belt on engine pulley and check for binding an idler pulley problem -debris -or rear unit binding -needs service-drive pulley damaged-rear locked--if not bogging in gear step on clutch engage deck release clutch if bogs need to check deck -belts-pulleys -mandrels -bearings and for bent or binding blades good luck

Scotts mower kohler command 25 motor bogs when mowing

Hi..my name is Keith..and it sounds like you have a binding somewhere on your mowing deck..i would check all the spindles .. pulleys and blades..and check the deck belt..it could have jumped a belt guard and it running on the outside of it..but just remember it has pulley brakes to slow the pulleys down when you shut it off..so..engage the deck without the engine running and check for the binding..i hope this has helped..if not..please write me back
