SOURCE: Toner Does Not Adhere to any Type of Labels

You need to specify that you are using labels in the printer properties, so the printer raises up the fuser temperature for printing on labels.

If you have the user guide, instructions are on page 28, chapter 5.

If not, here's how:

1. Open the straight-through output door.
2. Open tray 1 and adjust the media guides to the width of the media.
3. Load media in tray 1. Make sure that the top of the media is forward and the side to be printed on
(rough side) is facing up.
4. Open the printer Properties (or Printing Preferences in Windows 2000 and XP).
5. On the Paper/Quality tab or the Paper tab (the Paper Type/Quality tab for some Mac drivers),
choose the correct media type.

SOURCE: After printing label, the toner smears on the

A magnetic drum is charged up where the toner needs to go on the paper. This attracts the particles of toner to the paper. The toner is not wet or sticky, it is a dry powder. To fix it to the paper, the paper is passed a heating process. The heating element may not be working. Or the unit may need cleaning to remove toner deposits.

SOURCE: No matter what paper type

Hi

Go to Start
Control Panel
Printers
Right click on the printer in question
Printing Preferences
Paper/Quality
(Plain Paper) This is a pull down menu with all styles of paper. You can change to the paper that you are using and change other settings as well.

Also it could be as simple as a bad pickup roller in the tray 1 not moving the paper in the allotted time and you get the error. Try cleaning the roller with warm soapy water, but most likely it needs to be replaced.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.
Thank you for contacting fixya.com

I am having a problem with the wax ribbon smearing on a thermal label after I imprint on it. Is going to a resin/wax ribbon the only answer?

Not necessarily. It could be a head adjustment. If you are just printing on a blank thermal transfer label stock then wax should be just fine. If you are printing on a colored stock then a resin/wax would be better. We use resin/wax on everything because it is the same cost and runs better. But if you have only blank paper wax will be fine. If you are smearing then I suggest adjusting your head. Even if it printed fine before as your platen roller wears down it will require slight head adjustments to print properly

Ink from my deskjet 5650 smears off my glossy postcards.

Hello there jbaerpynes.

You must use HP branded glossy paper in this particular printer as recommended by the manufacturer. Because HP ink is much finer than most other inkjet printers, the ink sometimes does not set in properly on generic papers, especially glossy ones, and can smear right off.

Try new paper and get back to me. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to comment on my post. If I helped you, please give me a positive rating.

Thanks.

SMEARED PRINTING ON RIGHT-SIDE MARGIN

Ist I take it you have replace the toner/drum. If not do so. If you have then check the paper path to make sure there is nothing in the way, like a torn piece of paper or a label stuck in there? If you are 100% positive the paper path is clear there maybe something stuck in the fusing unit.
