That's your HV distribution block, lift up the rubber boots and hold the block down and pull the red anode leads out, one at a time.

Blinking green light on a mitsubishi rear projection tv

This sounds like your convergence chips have gone out. If you open the back of The set you will see a big metal piece with fins on it on the front side the convergence chips are located. When these go they usually take out several fuses on the power board they must be repalced along with your convergence ICs get the letters and numbers off of the chips they will start with the letters STK you can order a set of them from suburban electronics for around $20 there will be soldering involved with this repair if you can solder this is a easy fix that will cost you less than $40

RED converge not lining up

I have a few questions and A VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR SET.

Go into the customer menu and select Convergence: if the blue is skewed OR WILL NOT MOVE IN SOME DIRECTION, the set has a bad convergence IC.

Based on WHAT YOUR MODEL NUMBER IS this set uses TWO of the STK-392-110 CONVERGENCE IC's.

If you have some skills at soldering and are handy I can give you general instructions and also tell you what you will need

2 new STK-392-110 CHIPS
1 good soldering iron
Solder
de-soldering braid or wick(to remove solder)
Some liquid solder flux (used to un-solder and then when re-solder new parts in.
Some heat sink2.gif compound(applied to the back of the new chips before installed)

THE ABILITY TO GET AT THE CHIPS---I can if you want tell you what is involved here--this is really the hard part on most of these sets--yes, each chip does have 18 pins that have to be unsoldered/ soldered in.

Let me know if you are able to do it or if you HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR NEED ADVICE--I am here to help..

Picture bends in different colors

your Convergence IC chips and resistors arre failing you need to replace them

below is a general disscussion post for a Philips TV which will help you to understand your situation and what you might need usally you will need (2) IC convergence Chips and usally (12) Resisitors what have to be soldered onthe the board after you remove the old ones. this fix usally cost you to do it yourself $30, to have a repair man do it cost around $300-450 a new board if avalible usally costs $250-300

Sorry, for the bad new I hope you have a friend that knows how to work on circuit boards...
good luck,

below is a general post about a philips TV Convergence problem you can read about keep inmind your CHIP and RESISTORS will proball be different type....

you need 2 Convergence IC's STK392-120's (120's and 150's will work) of course order 2 of the same type I'm using replacement 150's they allow for a little higher heat and were cheaper ALSO you need to replace the 12 resistors with 6.8 ohm metal film resistors, make sure they are metal film! don’t skimp out here I did and then they blew and fried my IC's and I had to replace everything again!

Great reference link that I posted

RCA CONVERGENT PROBLOM

The convergence problem is likely to be in the convergence power supply which is located above and between the two boards which lie flat inside the chassis. The power supply has a chip on it which is a common problem (If it is not the transistor type then change the whole board.) part number on the chip where the metal heat sink is located. Part number may be STK 730-010 or STK 730-130 both number will work and must be unsoldered and new soldered in.

Convergence problem

The convergence board is bad in this set. Samsung no longer has this board in stock. You will have to take the board out and rebuild it by replacing both of the STK convergence amp IC's These IC's are soldered to the printed circuit board. They will be standing up against a metal plate, called a heat sink. They are black in color and are about 2" by 3" . They have white lettering on them that start with STK and the some numbers. You get those numbers and go to mcmelectronics.com, enter the exact number of the IC and order two of them. Before you install the new IC's you will need to apply some heat sink compound onm the back of the new IC's. This heat sink compound is avaialable thruogh radio shack. Good Luck
