Toshiba 6550 copier starts but then says close right front cover, the cover is closed, i have unplugged and plugged back in, cannot get it to work

Look for the hole that lines up with the actuator that tells the machine the door is closed usually a mettle flat long part sticking out the inside of the door stick something in the hole it lines up with and see if the switch is being pushed into the on position if you can do it by hand then its a matter of repositioning that switch by reforming the switch actuator wont be easy you have to take off the cover to expose the switches

There are many possibles that can cause "Close Front Cover"
Check the front cover actuator, switch. If all covers, switches is working fine, probably power supply is faulty.

Make sure the front cover is closed firmly, triggered the front switch, u can see clearly by removing the paper exit tray.
It might be front cover switch problem also.

Brothers Printer MFC 7420 Error Message "Back Door Open" I opened it and closed it several times still getting message. I unpluged it andtried again. Help


Hi. You have to follow these steps: Be very careful:

1. Open front cover, like in this image:

2. Pull out your printer's toner cartridge & drum unit:

3. Open back cover

4. Pull the tab which is in front of you in order to open the rear chute cover.

5. If there is any, pull the jammed paper out of the fuser.

6. Close back cover and put the cartridge toner & drum unit back where it belongs.

7. Close front cover too and see if it works! If your error will still appear, try powering your printer OFF & ON

Solution: Reset the unit-ICMF 5500/5700

Reset the unit
  1. Open the front cover.

  3. Unplug unit for 3-5 minutes, then plug the unit back in.

Close front cover


Unlikely the power supply. Sadly I can't think what causes that. I havent workrd on Toshiba for a couple of years now, but there is something else that causes that. Totally unrelated to the power supply or the switch. Have them call Toshiba support .
I am sorry I can't off hand remember the problem. But it is unlikely the power supply.

Close front cover


THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THE COVER SWITCHES. EVERY COVER HAS A SWITCH, ONE OF THEM MAYBE STUCK, BROKEN, OR MISSING. GOOD LUCK.

The print carriage is stuck.

Solution

  1. Open the top access door on the printer.
  2. Remove the print cartridges.
  3. Close the print cartridge flaps after removing the print cartridges.
  4. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  5. Replace the print cartridges.
  6. Close the top access door.
If the resume light continues to blink after the print cartridges are released,

OR

the print carriage is stuck or makes a grinding noise, follow these steps.

Solution

  1. Lift the top cover to the printer.
  2. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Move the print carriage towards the middle of the printer (this procedure may take a couple of tries to get the timing correct).
  5. Take out the print cartridges and close the top cover.
  6. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
  7. Open the top cover, reinstall the print cartridges, and then close the top cover

  3. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet
