Today's TVs consist of three boards - power, input (control) and video boards. Disassemble the back and take out the input board and look for burned IC chips. The input board gets its power from the power board, check the voltage. If all looks OK, then check the power board, especially the high voltage circuit. The volts at the capacitor should be around 390 to 400 volts. Today's TVs has a chip that check all the circuits and if one of circuits is not working, the TV should not turn on. (it is a safety thing.)

That does ring some bells. Does the tv ever do this when you are watching anything else on the HDMI input or any other inputs, apart from the DVD player as the input source?

no you do not need to upgrade the firmware, the channel selection is based on the amount of signal strength it gets, older analog systems would select it as long as there was a slight amount of modulation as for digital it goes by a percentage, if you wish to set these channels then go back under the setup and select manually add channels then you can add any one you whish reguardless of signal strength.

Check the setting on the V+box for a HD setting hook up should improve the picture.Still have the same problems,the HDMI cable it is the problems,changes another HDMI cable

Hi, I have your solution. there are only 2 audio outputs it seems-one is a fiber optic digital output that uses a Toslink connector, the other is a small 1/8 in.- 3.5mm stereo headphone jack ( it's location I'm unclear on-it may be located on the side or even on the bottom edge. Other than those the only other audio out is through the t.v.'s speakers. Thanks for choosing fixYa, good luck-Prodzilla

If you have "HDMI" port then that will give you the best picture. Just connect HDMI lead to both and select the HDMI input through your tv remote and the picture will show. If not you van connect via the VGA output if you have a vga cable. Same process.

if its new and it does this on several different inputs from different vidoe signals, take it back to where you bought it and demand a replacement.
