Question about Cameras

New SDHC card is not recognized or formatted

I just purchased a 32 gb SDHC (Sandisc) memory card from E-bay. My Canon T1i cannot access the card and tells me to reinsert or format. When I attempt to format I get the message that it cannot be fornatted. My computer tells me to insert a card into my card reader, so it is not recognizing the card either. A side note---after I ordered this card I recieved a reply to the question of when it would arrive. That reply said it was now being sent from Hong Kong instead of the Calif location stated on e-bay. No response from the seller. The card says it is a Sandisc Extreem III.
Any advice?

Camera saying memory full but card brand new

Not only the size is important, the manual says SD max 2 GB.
But even a 1GB SDHC card won't work, because the camera is not compatible with SDHC and SDXC.
They used to make SD cards up to 4 GB, but most new cards from 1 GB and up are SDHC and above 32 GB the cards are SDXC. Older camera's can't handle these cards, although they look the same.

How can I find a memory card today for my Digimax S600 camera? Sandisc 4 and 16 Gigabyte do not Work

You need to use SD cards, 2GB or smaller. The S600 does not work with higher capacity SDHC/SDXC cards.

SD cards are getting a bit harder to find, but they should still be available at most department, electronics, or office-supply stores. And, of course, the usual online sources.

HOW TO FORMAT CARD FOR KODAK C703 CAMERA

In settings you find (on the bottom) Format.
You could try formatting in a computer, using an external card reader and choose the FAT16 or FAT 32 format.

But be aware if you bought a new memory card it should be a SD card. Not a SDHC or worse SDXC.
The camera can only handle MMC and SD cards. Today you can't find much SD cards. Because they already started to make the 2Gb cards in SDHC. (High Capacity) these cards look the same, but can't be accessed if your system (Camera) can't handle the large file systems.
So if you need a new card, look for the smaller like 1 or 2 Gb, but with only SD printed on them. As soon as you see SDHC or SDXC you can't use them in this camera. The newer ones can.

I have a Canon PowerShot A540 Digital Camera I got a new memory card it is a sandisk SDHC 8 GB but I am getting a memory card error message.... What can I do?

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Please note that your particular model camera can only use up to 2GB standard SD cards. These are relatively inexpensive these days, and may be purchased on Amazon if your local store no longer carries them. There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problemlisted here.

You need a memory card reader that support SDHC formats - all SD cards bigger than 2GB are the new SDHC format. Most new readers will read SDHC. Any reader old enough to be "6 in 1" type doesn't support SDHC. You can get very cheap readers from eBay.

Here's the specs for your camera from Canon. Sorry, but an SDHC card is not listed as compatible with your camera. Only SD or MMC. Now look on your 16 and 32GB cards. You'll see SDHC stamped there. Although SDHC looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the format the cards use are very different. Unfortunately your camera was designed before the SDHC format came out.
You'll need to instead purchase a standard SD card (those that are 2GB or less). Fortunately these are very inexpensive these days, with 2GB cards going for around $6 with shipping.

Canon camera won't accept SD memory card

It's a good bet that anything 4GB or greater is a SDHC card (look on the card, see if SDHC is written there). Your A530 was designed before the new SDHC format came out. Sorry, but your camera will not recognize this type of card. Recommend instead that you get a 2GB standard SD card. They're relatively inexpensive these days.

I recently purchased a Canon DSLR XSi and my computer doesn't recognize it and the printer doesn't recognize the SD card. I have installed the software, but.....

it depends what card you are using-if it's a sdhc card 4 gb or higher some products won't recognize the new high capacity cards-try to find a memory card reader designed for the new cards-sandisk makes them-and the printer if it's older may never support new card and may only work after you download and then send to printer
