this is a super common problem for all convection ovens . your motor is going bad . you can replace it yourself as long as your handy . parts can come from searsparts .com or any appliance parts store . any repair person you call to do the job should have no problem . these motors go bad every 10 years or so , or more if you use it a lot ..........Please if this answer helped , please rate this 3 or 4 stars . and keep me in the paid answer department . A 1 or 2 may knock me down into the unpaid ranks. Thanks Cactus Bob .

I would suspect moisture has gotten into the switch. You may have to replace the switch if the innards have degraded.

How do i fix a noisy range hood?

IT THE NOISE COMING FROM THE FAN RUNNING? IF IT IS YOU NEED TO CHECK THE SCREW THAT ;ATTACHES THE FAN BLADES TO THE SHAFT. IT COULD BE LOOSE. ALSO CHECK THE SHAFT TO SEE IF IT IS WORN AND MOVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE. IF IT DOES YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE MOTOR.

Noisy loose fan.Found a nut in the fan and trying to get it to stay on fan shaft but keeps falling off. Will this fix problem if can get it on?

Take the nut to a hardware store and ask for a self-locking nut. That type nut shouldn't spin off again. That MIGHT solve the noise problem, if the fan blades are wobbling, or the shaft is spinning within the fan's center.

Kenmore range hood model 31093. The fan motor sounds like its running but the blade is not turning. The blade turns freely when swith is off.

Hi,
The fan shaft is stripped out inside the hub of the fan...this is fairly common and can be tough to fix...some hubs can be "egg"shaped with a large pliers to make them grip the shaft...
Others I have jammed a small piece of metal in to make them grip...
Also have glued some together with a glue like an expoxy cement that will get hard and hold everything together...

Each one I view and do differently depending on what I find and what's available...

Noisy fan or motor?

HI. The most common issue here will be with a loose motor shaft. This is the part that the fan blades are mounted on. When this occurs, the looseness will cause the motor, and shaft to wobble, thus, causing this noise you here at high speeds. The wobble is less violent during the slower speeds, so it is not loud, in this case.

The second issue will be a warped fan blade. This will cause the fan to rub against the shroud, thus, creating the noise, as well.

If the shaft is loose, or bent, the entire motor will need to be replaced. Now, if the fan blade is warped, you can, simply, unscrew the blade from the shaft, and replace it(on most model)

The exhaust hood of my restaurant is very noisy. The problem started 2 months ago.

I would first clean the hood throuoghly, and then check the bearing on the fan, also check if the fan blades are bent.

Nutone WA6500 range hood fan motor noisy

We have the same product, 18 months in use and the very noisy motor has finally seized up. I contacted the manufacturer and was advised that I need a new motor, motor mounting bracket and fan rotor. The agent was not able to quote me a price for the parts but stated that even though my 1-year warranty had expired, if I faxed them a copy of the original sales reciept they could possibly send me the parts for free under the original warranty agreement. I've done as they asked but haven't received a reply as yet. After reading about all the problems with this product I'm tempted to dump the whole unit and try to find another manufacturer that has a reliable and QUIET range hood.
