I push the button to dry my clothes and it is still damp. The dial has a 30 minute side on each side. It is a new machine. I'm used to setting the dial one time and my clothes are dry.

Make sure you don't have the vent kinked or stopped up with lint. Sounds like your dryer may be overheating. The vent connects to the back of the dryer and pipes to the outdoors.

Dryer drum loose not lining up properly making a huge thumping sound

Identification of Dryer Problems

Signs that an electric dryer may need some repairs include the dryer not heating, clothing not drying fast enough, overheating of the dryer, the door not locking shut and the dryer not starting at all. Any of these are signs of an underlying problem that can usually be solved without the help of a repairman.
Effects of Dryer Issues

If an electric dryer doesn't heat properly, it prevents the clothing from becoming dry in most cases. Restricted venting can cause clothing not to dry fast enough, as the dryer will cycle the heating. Overheating dryers can ruin clothing or cause burns. If the door on a dryer wont close, it is impossible to get any laundry dried. A dryer not running at all can be very frustrating and lead to owners needing to use a laundromat.
Considerations for Solving Common Problems. If the dryer wont heat up, owners should check the circuit breaker to see if it's down. The voltmeter at the wall plug should read 240 volts. Checking the power cord can show owners if the wires are burned where they meet the dryer.Clothing not drying fast enough and overheating are signs of restricted venting. Removing the vent hose from the dryer can help owners decide if this is the cause of clothing not drying. If the hose is removed and the dryer runs normally, the vent should be cleaned.White plastic or thin foil ducts can also lead to overheating. Only metal ducts should be used with dryers. Kinks in the vent hose can also lead to heating issues. Overheating can also be caused by a shorted heater coil, a bad operating thermostat or worn drum seals. If the door on an electric dryer will not close, it is usually a problem with the door catch. This can be solved easily by purchasing a replacement door catch for the dryer.
When a dryer wont run, it could be a number of issues. The circuit breaker may be down or the wires at the plug may be burned. It may be an issue with the door switch. The door switch should click when closed. The thermal fuse should be checked for any issues.
Preventing Dryer Problems
The electric heating element, thermostats, fuses and thermal cut-off should be checked regularly for continuity. Dryer vents should not exceed 18 feet without a helper blower in the duct. Vents that are run vertically need to be cleaned out once a year. A meter can be purchased and used to diagnose problems with your electric dryer.
Warnings and Tips.Inexperienced people should never try to fix electrical problems at home. A professional should always be used if dryer owners suspect a more serious problem. Dryer owners can purchase kits to make cleaning dryer vents easier.

Our Bosch Ventless AXXIS Dryer system is overheating causing the sensor to sound. It is not drying properly either. Can you troubleshoot??

Overheating is most probably caused by low air flow past the heating element. High air flow would not allow the air to overheat. Check to be sure the fan is rotatingn freely and then check the heating element/wires for dirt or other obstructions. We were having "burning" problems that were revealed to be an errant latex glove that excaped from my wife's pants pocket during an earlier drying cycle. When it hit the elements, it began to cause a scortching smell and partially melted. In this instance, the air flow about the element was restricted and the reamining air overheated and the sensor sounded. When the sensor sounds, heating ceases and you will get non-uniform drying. I picked off the pieces of the glove from the wires and except for an unrelated drive belt breaking, we have not had problems.

Dryer wont start dryer started smoking last used now wont start has power. door switch checks fine. has power to start switch

That sounds to me like an air restriction has caused overheating.
The blower wheel on these dryers tends to start slipping with age. 528f0fa.jpgThe slipping makes the dryer over heat and cause the safety's to shut down quickly.1b3c53e.jpg 32276fa.jpgThis takes a lot longer for the clothes to dry. aff5565.jpgFinally the limit opens and kills the whole thing. You vent is plugged very bad. Disconnect the vent tubing and thoroughly clean it out. It will heat and dry like new afterwards guaranteed. These dryers have sensors that shut the burner off if the exhaust is not venting properly. Once its cleared out it will run perfectly again
