Samsung bn64-00464A 42" plasma screen TV picture went out but the sound still works. Is there a way to do a hard reset or other fix that would be great.

sounds like your bulb is shot-remove back panel to find-take out and take to tv shop for replacement-use gloves on new bulb when replacing as you should with any bulb-hand oil diminishes life of bulbs.

Sounds like your bulb is burned out. You can have a serviceman replace it or buy one and do it yourself. Go to ShopJimmy.com. They have your bulb and probably will give you instructions to replace the bulb, and answer any questions you have about it. Call ShopJimmy (877) 881-6492 / (952) 881-6492

Where and whats is involved in removing the bulb from a dell 4201c hdtv plasma 42"

If it is a flat panel plasma tv there is no lamp (bulb) in this type of set. Only rear projection LCD and DLPs have Lamps that need to be replaced.

Dell 4201C Plasma 42" -

Hi, Mary.

This sounds to me like it is a bulb issue, and not something worse, like failed capacitors.
If that is the case, then yes, it is worth repairing it.

You need to get the old bulb out, either by removing it yourself, or by having someone take it out for you, and the take the old bulb to Fry's or BestBuy.

They both keep tv projection bulbs for flat screen tv's in stock.

I hope that I've helped you understand what is going on, and that it helped.

Have a nice day, and good luck.

Tv keeps blowing blubs every year why

if its a plasma tv then it happens.. if a bulb in a plasma tv is displaying the same color for some while then the bulbs can overheat. for instance plasmas tvs in the airports have to be replaced after a couple of years because they are showing the same picture for a while .. which causes the bulb overheat .

Hello, I got this Model in 2006 and my picture has got dimmer and dimmer. Is their just one bulb that needs to be replaced, and is it the bulb? Thank You!

there is more than one bulb, you need to call samsung to find out just how many. the bulb can be the primary fault , however all plasma tv's will dim more and more over time. It has more to do with the plasma panel though. replacing the bulbs may brighten the picture some however if it were only the bulbs you would have no picture at all. my personal opinion in this case would be to not replace the bulbs, i doubt that will solve your problem even if it does brighten the picture some i doubt it will produce the solution you are seeking. plasma tv's are great but they do have drawbacks, like the bulbs needing to be replaced and the fact that the panels get burn in . the problem you have is more to do with burn in than it does the bulbs. even thought there is no static image in one place ( what people think burn in is only ) the entire panel has " burn in " slightly which dulls the screen. i suggest buying a new tv, lcd or lcd/led to avoid this in the future. you can try to use the same thing they do to fix actual burn in of a static image, that may brighten the screen a little, however in some instances that is the culprit. to truely explain all this it would take a very long time , look up burn in on the internet and read about all the causes and solutions, you will then understand in a rather short period of time.

I have a pdp4247 plasma i have a 3" white line down the center /w

there are no bulbs in plasma tv's. the problem is most likely a bad video board (what converts the digital input to usable picture for the screen) it will need to be replaced, probably better to get a new tv.

What is involved in changing bulb in my samsung plasma tv

There is no lamp in a plasma TV. If you have a "blackout" display, the unit must be taken to a service center for repair. It could be as simple as a blown fuse in the power supply or as complicated as a shorted picture tube--yes, that whole display is ONE large gas-filled tube. Definitely check for warranty status on your unit. Did you buy extended warranty coverage?Have your receipt, warranty info, etc. when you take the unit in...most major suppliers can look up all the info on their computers but, if you have an extended warranty, you'll need that folder with the contract number. Hope I helped you!---Rick
