Question about Televison & Video
My 3 year old Magnavox 42'' plasma (w/ATSC/QAM Tuner), made a loud ''pop'' noise when I turned it on, then all different color dots dance all over the screen. Still has sound and can change the channels. Can anyone tell me what might have happened and is it worth repairing?
It sounds like you had a failure on the "X "and or " Y " boards. It is repairable but not cheap. it couild run a easy 700.00 to 900.00 or more if problems are across both boards. the only way to find out is to get a NAP Service Man out there and take a peek. There is also a possibility that the Plasma Panel was damaged when it failed. This would render this unit not worth repairing.
Hope this helps,
