On Dec. 20th I purchased 40pcs of 12X12 self stick vinyl floor tile. After they were installed the top layer of the vinyl is peeling away from the bottom. It is like a cellophane sheet on top. Now that they are installed, we are going to have to remove them and do it again with new tile. We were sold junk. My receipt #5574-4867-2617-2477. The cost was $154.80. My name is Joseph Rexing @

SOURCE: Is vinyl floor tile , from HOME DEPOT, strong

Vinyl flooring is very durable depending on how it is installed. If they are individual pieces that have have glue on the back then i would say no. I have found that Pergo is more durable and has a nicer scratch resistance but can be a little more expensive. Talk with your local Home Depot flooring professionals and let them know your concerns.

Hope this helps.

I have a 12x12 vinyl stick down tile in the middle of the floor with a rock or something under it. how do I replace it?

If it is 12 x 12 tile, and not sheet with a 12x12 pattern you should be able to get a corner up and just peel the one square out.
If it's a sheet with a 12x12 title pattern and the bump is small, you can put a metal putty knife flat over the bump and hit it once with a hammer to see if you can flatten it. If the bump is large you're going to have to do a clean cut to remove it, the use a heat gun and a metal putty knife to flatten it out afterwards.

Can plywood be glued to tile floor before laying vinyl planks ??

There are cement based compounds on the market that will allow you to just go over top of your tile floor. Make sure your tile floor is not loose anywhere, clean the floor well and use a patching compound over the existing tiles (this will fill in the grout lines and any uneven areas of the tile). It may take a couple of coats, maybe even 3 to get the floor smooth and level. You should be able to install your vinyl right on top of this and not have the added height of the plywood. If you insist on the plywood you could use a good quality construction adhesive with drilling and installing screws.

Our self sick vinyl tile won't stick what can you do to get it to stick? We are just installing.

are you putting this over concrete? Is the concrete "clean" meaning your not putting it over glue. I am guessing if this is a new install it is a problem with the floor itself.

Which flooring is best for commercial space like gym or sports field. Is there any provider in Kansas city?

Having been in the flooring installation end of the business for over 20 years have you considered rubber mat flooring. It is about an inch thick and has interlocking tabs. Maybe I can find a hyper link.

Additionally on the market is a vinyl carpet tile...carpet on top....vinyl on the bottom...with a thin dense done inbetween
This is a very popular choice due to the ease of installation...using a peel and stick glue. It allows you to adhere the carpet tile to the floor and if future stains or issues arise you can take the carpet tile up and replace it. Very comfortable under foot....used on many commercial applications and now available at retail outlets like LOWES and home depot

Search the web for carpet tile...and releaseable adhesive for carpet tile.

You can compare prices vs wood, but I would not choose a wood floor personally.

Try your local Home Depot. They will carry mostly 12X12 tiles but will have some 16 X 16 to choose from. You may also be able to order the larger tile in the color you want.
